  1. Exactly, I know this winter its been unusual seeing London receive a dumping in December and ourselves were left cold and dry but they have waited many years for a significant snow event (5cm +). We've not had to endure that long a gap. Even looking north, quite a few times you'll pop into to the Northwest regional thread and see them reporting rain and sleet only for it to fall as snow further inland in the Midlands.
  2. I think were actually a bit spoilt at times the evidence is there. The MO snow days chart show Birmingham does alright at the very least.
  3. I disagree, that's being quite harsh on Birmingham. Birmingham is one of the snowiest cities, especially in relation to other cities in the Midlands and South. It's relatively high elevation and inland location helps. It can receive snow from the north west through the Cheshire Gap, from the east as there is no high ground to the east to stop the showers penetrating inland. Also, it does do well in battleground setups being afterall in the middle. Just because, this winter London has seen more snowfall (depth wise) doesn't mean this is a bad place for snow. And you say 'any interesting weather' well Brums has had it fair share of tornadoes and in recent years has had more thundery activity then parts of the south coast!
  4. The last remaining snow patches remain, I think they will gone early tomorrow with a forecast high of 8 degrees. The snow has stayed for quite a while considering it was only a meagre 3cm.
  5. Snow and frost remains in shaded spots, as others have also mentioned. I think were doing ok on the frost front this season
  6. Nice, I was worried that we were entering a westerly dominated spell with no end in sight, this gives me some hope!
  7. UKGUK chart WWW.THEWEATHEROUTLOOK.COM UK Met Office global model is one of the leading numerical weather prediction models
  8. A satellite image showing the snow in red. Very spotty of course, with Wolverhampton (M54 area) doing well but areas east of the M6 not seeing anything at all. Can just about make out the snowy Cotswolds and those in the far south east of our region.
  9. Personally at this stage I would rather any snow event be shown to be slightly to the north of us, to compensate for any southern adjustments that would be likely to happen
  10. Another ice day, here with a high of -0.6 degrees. A seasonable spell of weather, hopefully the next cold spell will be snowier!
  11. No frost this morning, but freezing fog again today. Yesterday the temperature didn't climb above 0, I wonder if it will also be the case today....
  12. Good to see London and SE getting some long-awaited snow after all their flops and near misses!
  13. Congrats to all who recorded snow ️ ! I managed a sprinkling, so at least this cold spell will not be snow free! Coldest day so far here, with freezing fog and temperatures still a 0
  14. One model run forecast for the memory book! Even if I just get a 1/3 of that I'll be happy! #JustForFun
  15. A high of 3 degrees today, a bit more cloud around than the past few days.
