Will the showers make it to the north west of London? If not, I'm tempted to drive to where it is snowing.
-
Snow grains here now. Is this the decaying front passing front or a passing shower?

so we either believe the models and their ens that we will see strong zonal first part next week or we don't !
Isn't an uptick in zonal flow likely before the effects of the SSW take effect in the Troposphere?
-
Still nothing here in Surrey. Maybe more luck when i go back home at 6 am:)

Showers dying out rather quickly as the reach the Crawley area
Yeah it seems the showers won't make it to south west or north west london. We might have something better to talk about on Friday according to the latest BBC forecast.

Still nothing here so far. I think it will stay dry here going by the Netweather radar. Seems i'm too far west at this location

Snowing here
How far are you from Esher?

I am up all night. I wasn't suppose to be working tonight. I was looking forward to seeing some snow with a beer in hand. I will be snow watching in a different mode now.
So am I going to see any Surrey?

The Met Office just have it as a normal windy day tomorrow. So it looks like this system won't produce the same strength of gusts as the last one did.

Aye, I know. I go to university in Southern England, it's hilarious how they react to snow. We had a few sugar dustings in December and a number of people were outside dancing around in the grass. Unbelievable.
Well what is rare has its own charm. I had two snow days where i live - which is rare for London in one winter! Although, I do live about 250 foot above sea level.

Will there be any snow on the Chilterns this weekend? I might head up there on Sunday. Still am in awe of what i saw the first time i was up there! It proves you don't have to go to far from London to experience a winter wonderland in the right conditions!

The UK Met office gave a very late Yellow warning for this. I think they have been caught out by this system.

Quite gusty here at the moment. If i had to estimate i'd say gusts of 40 to 45 mph in the last 30 minutes.

Another trip to the Chilterns might be in order next week.

Next dates for interest...14th/15th! If what is showing now in the models comes off then potentially it could end up very snowy for us all!
Is it cold zonality or something from the east?

I was hoping i might come back to some snow... so just a biting easterly wind to look forward to on Sunday night in Surrey:)

It seems I might be coming back at just the right time:) Fingers crossed.

The blizzard to end all blizzards during April 1917. That or some of the epic frontal snow events from 1947.

I don't think it's all gone but I think it will be looking in a sorry state. Yep, even to low levels.
I don't want to see it like that- i prefer to remember it how it was yesterday:) So I will stay at home. So hopefully some snow tonight, before the milder weather takes hold! Hopefully not for too long, If the GFS is to believe we might have something to cheer about towards the end of the month!

A bit of a rapid thaw setting in all places some snow possible tonight might settle above 150 meters.
So are you saying it would be all gone from the Chilterns too? There was about seven inches there yesterday. It was a tremendous sight. . Anyway, I live 75 metres above sea level, could i see snow here tonight?
-
All my snow is gone. I am tempted to drive to the Chilterns again to get my snow fix- there must be a couple of inches remaining there.
