  1. This storm was nowhere near Spain, in fact here on the south coast it was by far the nicest day of the last 2 weeks or so
  2. For here it has been a lovely day lots of sunshine with a strong breeze, chilly in the shade but felt warm earlier in the sun with shelter, getting stronger now the sun, no need for warnings at least in this part of the U.K. a few snowflakes wouldn’t go amiss though
  3. Would be nice to see a flake Fall from the sky, needs to be long fetch easterlies for that to happen here
  4. Intense hail shower just now in a blustery cold wind, looked a bit sleety/snowy for a second, highlight of winter so far.
  5. If it’s going to be very mild, may as well just be warm and sunny in my opinion, I dislike mild in winter but that spell was actually lovely
  6. For here it was a decent storm but 2nd November 2019 was a bit worse here in terms of stronger gusts but for a much shorter period of time maybe about an hour, today was only noteworthy here for the duration of strong gusts lasting most of the day, and the one squall that did finally reach here about 6.30 and did produce almost a hurricane like effect rain for about 2 minutes
  7. I agree, I understand the safety side of things of course and appreciate everyones care, but a webcam footage of the seafront just doesn’t do a windstorm justice with me, I enjoy the thrill but without being stupid about it, the seafront is only a minutes walk from my house
  8. I’m not going to be a fool just pop to the beach to experience it for say 10 mins, well away from the water obviously, away from possible falling objects, I’m a fan of severe gales
  9. Should be a very wild walk along the shoreham coastline tomorrow! 80mph +
  10. Feels very different here hasn got above 6c and low cloud and mist all day, yesterday felt very spring like compared to today here
  11. That would bring a bit more excitement to the place, actual weather
  12. What a lovely day, 11c blue skies and barely a breeze, very hazy though felt like an early April sunny spell
  13. We get southerlies in winter, and I bet we get northerlies again in spring, is the climate back to front??
  14. I think the months are getting increasingly easier to predict now with the ever warming climate, April to early June northern blocking, cold in the lead up to winter then turning milder the instant winter arrives, hopefully there will be a few surprises this year
  15. I know exactly what you mean, I’d rather a snowy winter but in terms of excitement stormy would be 2nd best
  16. I remember the 2nd November storm that wasn’t named but produced near 90mph gusts here, but zilch other than that... yes can’t wait for ‘chilling in the garden with a beer’ weather.
  17. Absolutely, I don’t like any weather type on repeat, just a couple of notable storms to keep me interested
  18. From a weather enthusiasts point of view it’s much more exciting, minus the floods and damage of course
  19. Decent day sunshine between the clouds mostly dry apart from a heavy ish shower around 7-8 o’clock, been very showery here the last week or so
  20. Wouldn’t mind if they were storm force sw’lys, don’t like boring mild benign nothingness
  21. Personally if we can’t get any decent cold and snow I’d much rather see some deep Atlantic storms with severe gales, at least for me that’s exciting
