  1. True it’s been very wet, but there haven’t been any relentless storms so far like 13/14 and the pv was much stronger then than it is now
  2. Nothing cold here recently just damp but at least it’s been calm. All I can remember from last summer was continuous dry weather apart from the first 2 weeks in June then the rest of summer I barely remember any rain, it’s like this part of England is turning more distinctly wet for winter and drier in summer
  3. Not denying GW, but since when was mild, wet Atlantic weather weather NOT the common denominator? In your last post you said that cold and snowy weather was a thing of the past in the south meaning we won’t see it again, now you’ve changed your mind saying we may see cold snaps, your contradicting yourself
  4. I always struggle to get low temps being literally directly on the south coast, even air frosts are uncommon here, I’ll always remember that spell imagine if it happened mid January!
  5. You only have to go back not even 2 years to find one of the single most severe cold spells in March with blizzards I even had a max of -2c and my house is about a minutes walk from the seafront
  6. I see what you mean, feels milder today here as the wind has dropped right down actually fairly pleasant in sunny spells
  7. It is way above average, however I wouldn’t call it remarkable as it happens every winter, 6c above average in June would be about 26c and that’s hardly remarkable is it? December is after all the mildest winter month
  8. It is mild but not remarkably so, 11-12c down here but I’d call that an ‘average mild’ winter spell.
  9. Aimed at vulnerable people or not, surely you can’t agree a couple degrees below average is classed as ‘severe cold’..
  10. 0.6c above average to the 4th, rather than the whole month
  11. I unfortunately didn’t take any videos, this has happened to me once, I signed out and back in again and the quote thing had gone away.. ?
  12. I live right on the coast and I can say I haven’t seen anything like that in over 5 years, for here beats all previous named storms, couldn’t even walk forwards on the seafront... yellow warning wasn’t enough for here
  13. Standing on the seafront and it’s insanely windy, easily 70mph gusts maybe more worst storm I’ve experienced since 2013/14 winter
  14. If this storm isn’t named they must have scrapped it. These winds are far worse than anything I’ve experienced during actual named storms, been a long time since I’ve seen winds like this, standing on the seafront must be at least 70mph gusts maybe more, so inconsistent it’s unbelievable
  15. Shame here last few days never dropped below 5c due to on and off cloud cover, still felt nice and seasonal though with yesterday’s high of only 10.4c
  16. Agree. Personally it’s much more fun watching the radar than being constantly dry and cloudy, I can understand why people don’t like it but autumn is what deep lows wind and rain is all about as well as early cold shots and the odd misty calm days thrown in.
  17. Being on the south coast of England I would agree with you, but falling snow always an added bonus
  18. To be fair he did say last ‘true’ white Christmas, which means snow actually falling not just on the ground
  19. As a weather enthusiast it’s nice to have something slightly different for a change rather than above average temps and anticyclonic conditions persisting in autumn, I love all weather types if they don’t persist for more than a month or so, we had endless dry weather throughout summer (at least here anyway) so it’s nice to see a wetter period for me
  20. What do you expect it’s autumn, we’ve been lucky the past few years escaping with little rain in autumn, for me it’s more exciting than mild dry nothingness as I enjoy watching the radar, hopefully a respite as we enter November
