The blob coming off Belgium has also started to loose ompf..
What will be will be I suppose.
Temps plummeting here now -2.9c.
Sounds like we may be luckier tomorroww!

Not looking good on latest radar for areas from Herne Bay down to Canterbury etc, as it's starting to shift more west now in development. West kent still looking ok! But to be honest, the precipitation rates could be better
Think you're right. Always the worry for us in this situation. Having said that, activity in last fews mins has just pepped up a bit!

Radar is our friend tonight.
Apps are useless as well.
North sea defo starting its Engine to my eye.
Hoping Margate cops some of this as it will also then be heading through here rather than migrate into the Estuary more

Moderate dandruff here currently.
Hoping to match 8 cm from BFTE
Yes seems to be picking up again here. Would have thought you'd have reached that level by now but difficult to tell with all the wind!

Thought it was fizzling out , just opened curtains and its hammering down again..
What a day...
Winter wonderland out my window..
Better than 2018.
I'd have to go back to 2013 to be on par wth the amount I've had today
This is what the chase is all about for us coldies
Today I struck gold..
Good to see Thanet doing so well. As long as my staff get in to work (qeqm) tomorrow

Lots of icicles forming. Takes me back to the 80s!
Roads turning white now with some of the heaviest snow we've had all day. Prepared for the inevitable problems with motorists getting stuck on our little hill and needing to provide assistance
-
Light to moderate snow with a few heavier bursts since 7am. We have about 7-8cm in all. Not bad for the coast. Hope others get luckier with streamers later

I've got very heavy snizzle lol, the snow is so small, but there's loss of it, don't worry the cold and nice snow is here and will move further east as the cold moves east.
Think you meant to say west

Heaviest snowfall I've seen for a very long time
Nice. Surprised with the strength of the wind. Loving the horizontal snow.

Lampost tells me there are huge wet flakes blowing through but sounds from the conservatory roof tell me there's still rain in the mix. Still I'm on the coast so much patience needed as ever

Maybe Westwood cross. That's proper alpine. 50 odd metres above sea level
Especially if you're standing on the roof of Debenhams

Unfortunately I can see this starting to fizzle out for anything but the extreme tip of Kent as the main front seems to be moving erratically SE - away from us. Rain and sleet continue over much of the SE area, but snow confined to the higher parts of Thanet.
Just out of interest which higher parts of Thanet are you referring to

Wind picked up massively outside.
Dread to think of me walking in that windchill tomorrow.
Not going sledging in cherry orchard?

Yes lived in Canterbury in the early 90s and the snowfall of Feb 1991 was exceptional. It settled quite quickly once it got going! Looking like East Kent up for some more decent snowfall from this favoured set up
Can confirm that as was working in wincheap at the time. Roads were a mess with no 'working from home' in those days . I reckon Canterbury is in the firing line again for tomorrow with a switch to Medway/ Maidstone areas by Monday

This storm darcy just clipping the south east worry.. has anybody else seen it broadcast ! latest forecasts are still positive and I read that if anything there a trend north band west on some near term models this afternoon..
I wonder whether they were referring to the blizzard conditions from Holland extending to the UK within the system and not the system itself!

Following the countdown and ups n downs from ten days ago on the MOD thread has sometimes been quite agonising too!

Just been for a decent walk around the estate with my eldest. Not another person or moving vehicle in sight. Eerily quiet with just the sound of the moderate sized snowflakes hitting the trees and bushes. Everything white again. Didn't want to go back indoors.
