Same here on North Kent coast. About a 6/10 Now. Heaviest it's been all day

Not much happening in H.bay either. No better than 2/10 at any point in the last couple of hours.
-
Snow rate picking up now. Looking good for next few hours in North/East Kent

Good to see snow falling lightly without any radar returns on show. I'm taking that as a positive for later. Temp in H.bay gradually dropping close to freezing now.
-
Moderate small flakes in H.Bay now and paths are getting covered. Temp down to 0.5c
-
Light here in Herne Bay and settling on cars and grass. Radar looks promising for all

Am I right in thinking the showers will move directly east now putting London in the firing zone?
West you mean perhaps! ?

Shower in SE Essex pretty much dying whereas over the Estuary fun and games near Herne Bay with some strong echoes
That intense blob strangely didn't produce much here in Herne so i reckon Whitstable got the benefit

Heavy snow now in Herne Bay, just gave 2CM!
Thought we were destined to miss out earlier but a slight shift in direction has helped!

First shower of the evening in Herne and quite heavy compared to radar image. Promising!
Temp is down to -1.3.

I hope that all see some snow tonight. When those really brutal 850s come over the north sea later, we should see a jump up in convection and then hopefully more snow!!! I've got just over 1cm covering here in margate, but better than Ive had in 5 years! Hoping cloud continues to build so the sun doesnt melt what's already there!
I feel your pain after living in Thanet for 20 yrs. Amazing how just up the road we have 7/8 cm. Good luck for later!

I think the Met Office Amber warning was a very good shout.
The Yellow warning for last night was probably too extensive, but they have to cover any ‘unexpected’ developments.
Agreed. My area H.Bay was on edge of amber warning and most of the snow missed us by a few miles so pretty accurate unfortunately

Winds got up and first signs of light snow in H.Bay after an hour and a half lull. Radar starting to look more promising again!

Hi all. Another long term lurker here from East Kent. Enjoying the buzz and anticipation this evening. Only downside to this upcoming spell being that it begins on a Monday and not at wk-end when the kids could make the most of it.

Intensifying blob west of Ashford looking promising for North East Kent perhaps!
