  1. Had a heavy downpour and a rumble of thunder whilst out at Crewe Pride a few hours ago think they were more intense Chester/ Welsh border way though. It’s gone very dark to my west again with heavy rain falling ️
  2. It's been a strange week Monday was like something out of early October rather than July wet and cool, today feels more like summer at 26c here in S Cheshire, a potentially thundery weekend in store though
  3. Really poor for July but would have to be a sustained wet & cool spell to rival 2012 or 2007 in terms poorness. Will be interesting to see if things pick up mid month and into August, still plenty of time for pleasant early-mid 20c’s summer weather luckily though even if we don’t tap into anymore 30c+ heat.
  4. After a flaming June pretty cool into the majority of next week, entering July below average and with temperatures more like late September/ early October than going towards mid summer 15-17c is a poor midsummers day for sure as far as temperatures go. Modern July average for the south of the region is probably closer to 20-21c and the north of the region 18-20c.
  5. S Cheshire catching the edge of a torrential downpour affecting Stoke/ North Staffs at the moment ️ Feeling a bit more humid again.
  6. Thankfully the rain has freshened things up a bit as it was getting a bit oppressive that wonderful petrichor smell filling the air. Still torrential rain here ️
  7. Torrential downpour now ️ more rainy than thundery though sadly.
  8. Not so sure about that heavy rain has arrived here few more rumbles of thunder too.
  9. Hazy sunshine ️ & humid 25c looking forward to some fresher weather next week lots of sticky grumpy people about although think we might have another shot of heat towards mid July.
  10. Cloudy & humid to start Saturday with glimmers of brightness not my favourite type of weather but quite common in a NW summer just perhaps not this early - more of a mid July- August type of weather.
  11. Yeah a damp squib here tbh a rumble of thunder then light rain not really clearing the air as still feeling humid - goes to show that the best weather events both Winter & Summer are often those underestimated and sometimes not even forecast! ⛈
  12. It’s Storm Watch Sunday for sure. Will have to be quite something to top last Monday’s storm locally but will be interesting to see what develops this afternoon & this evening ⛈ Tentative signs of some more heat building next weekend too
  13. It’s a heavy shower but we weren’t due ‘proper’ rain till tomorrow most forecasts had us cloudy, muggy and dry.
  14. Moderate-Heavy Rain ️ Bit of a forecast bust today as any substantial rainfall wasn’t forecast till tomorrow.
  15. A slightly fresher feel to things under cloudy skies here in S Cheshire this morning - quite a typical low 20’s NW England overcast with the chance of a shower summers day today so a change from the very warm- hot sunny days of recent weeks. Eyes turn to rainfall/ thunderstorm 🌩 potential tomorrow though
  16. Yeah could be wrong but think we may see a shift to still warm (with the chance of a plume ) but gradually wetter conditions as we head into late month and into July. I just hope we aren’t experiencing a front loaded summer that fizzles out into nothingness or worse a washout by high summer & holiday season mid July-mid August. A front loaded summer being arguably as equally disappointing as a front loaded winter. It’s been another hot one locally up to 28c here in S Cheshire today with indoor temps more uncomfortable than last night. It’s amazing how normal day after day of high 20’s/ low 30c’s are becoming in recent summers particularly across the southern half of NW England. Only 10 years ago a few days of 24c & 25c was considered a decent heatwave for the NW whereas now that’s a few very warm days with 27-30c being seen as being a decent heatwave for Cheshire, Merseyside & Gtr MCR in particular
  17. Lots of flooding locally - Sandbach/ Crewe and surrounding areas.
  18. More gunshot thunder & lightning with lots of surface flooding - definitely the best/ worst depending on your viewpoint storm in a long while here it just keeps going ⛈
  19. Worst storms in a good few years here in S Cheshire - gunshot thunder, lighting and driving torrential rain - everything has just gone bang ⛈
  20. NW England is storm central tonight more so towards the west of the region ⛈⛈
  21. Very dark to the west of here as storms move through into Cheshire West and Merseyside, here in East Cheshire a few flashes of lightning and thunder rumbling away with spots of rain beginning to fall, feeling very close.
  22. 30c reached here in SE Cheshire. Definitely feeling hot & sultry out there A Flash Amber Warning ⛈ for Thunderstorms valid until 9pm has just been issued for the West Midlands, Cheshire (particularly Cheshire West), western parts of Gtr MCR with the focus on Merseyside, Wirral & NE Wales.
  23. Think we’ll get close to 30c tomorrow here in S Cheshire 28/29c depending on whether any storms ⛈ show up. Quite a decent first half of June this is shaping up to be with another warm week on the cards next week.
  24. Been lucky enough to have this week off work - just perfect weather not too hot, just pleasantly warm, fresh nights so fine for sleeping and low humidity. The switch to summer ‘proper’ may well be flicked next weekend though if the ECM model is to be believed with 28c forecast and higher humidity latest GFS keeps us with more of the same for the foreseeable though but definitely not complaining about that!
