  1. Latest Meto update has the cold ramping up. Six consecutive ice days for parts of Aberdeenshire, starting today. This is going to get expensive
  2. Looks like Braemar recorded the official coldest temperatures overnight at -16c....so far. The roads are in great shape this morning, the deep cold has burnt most of the ice away. Zero problems during the commute
  3. Official coldest UK temperature overnight goes to Braemar -16c provisional. Corgarff hit -17.5c overnight.
  4. Very cold temperatures across Aberdeenshire. Corgarff -17.1 at midnight, that could go lower at sunrise. My location this morning.
  5. Corgarff down to -17.1 at midnight. That could drop lower around sunrise.
  6. I think you'll be close with that guess. Along the road at Tomintoul, the Met forecast is for -16c tomorrow 9am. A local forecaster thinks Corgarff and Braemar will hit -18c tomorrow.
  7. Some impressive early evening temperatures for parts of Aberdeenshire. Corgarff - 14.4c 8pm Braemar- 11c 7pm
  8. Some impressive early evening temperatures for parts of Aberdeenshire. Corgarff - 14.4c 8pm Braemar- 11c 7pm
  9. We could see some very low temperatures overnight. Corgarff recorded -11.5c at 16.44.
  10. Gritters everywhere on the commute home. Temperature well below freezing.
  11. Snow continues across NE Scotland. Plenty of minus 10c, or lower, temperatures tonight/tomorrow. 20221210_175917.mp4
  12. Yesterday's sleet/snow has frozen overnight turning the roads into ice rinks. 4wd + winter tyres and the car was still sliding left and right while heading in a straight line. Full concentration required when approaching bends. That should be the last of the snow until Wednesday so hopefully, the council get their arses in gear and start clearing/gritting the roads. The start of the deep cold setting in, temperatures expected to be well below freezing before the sun sets.
  13. BBC News "Temperatures have sunk to the lowest level of the year in Scotland as many cut back on spending to stay warm. Forecasters recorded -9.2C at Eskdalemuir in Dumfries and Galloway on Friday night"
  14. Lashing down with rain in Aberdeen. Footpaths and sections of road still covered in ice = Nightmare
  15. I would say the ongoing cold spell, now qualifies as historic? "Scotland endures longest weather warning on record" Met Office extends Scotland snow and ice travel warnings WWW.BBC.CO.UK Yellow weather alerts will apply in northern, central and southern Scotland until noon on Sunday.
  16. Latest update has moved the heavy snow from 1900 - 2200. Hopefully, I get home before that starts.
