Now it looks like the cold spell will potentially be uneventful I’m of the mind that I want the low to head northwards and give *someone* a snow event (even if it’s not me)! Would be a shame to go through all this for nothing!

However, if the micro changes keep occurring incrementally , we would eventually reach a tipping point where it impacts the bigger picture (such as a disrupting or undercutting atlantic low).

This is a bizarre run - at 210 hrs look at the 500hpa charts - then the 850hpa temps. Not what you’d expect if taken at face value!

Still bitterly cold under this ridge.

It nearly made it, but just in time it’s invented a new dartboard low to topple the ridge. I think Scandi may be the direction of travel soon.

This is the point where you’d expect the atlantic low to disrupt and break se’wards towards the Iberian low. It wont though ‘cos GFS.

Think we have a chance of scandi height rises on this run.

Just a word of warning - GEM snow charts are absolutely useless. I’m surprised it isn’t showing us snowbound today!

Nah, once GFS gets in a pickle like this you just have to let it get on with it. FI is probably day 6 at the moment.

Nope not great imo. What the northern members need to realise, is the further north this goes, the worse everything becomes for longevity - for all of us. Now out to day 9, I’d call this a terrible run after all the build up today. Happy to argue my case!
