I’m still hoping we might find some Scandy heights at some point to keep the cold going. Surprised this hasn’t popped up yet.

What is interesting for me is why do the heights appear to ‘deflate’ in situ in FI, without any obvious atlantic attack. That’s the only word to describe them - they just appear to fizzle. Hopefully once they get closer the modelled heights will be stronger.

The 192 chart is actual perfection. Let’s not worry too much if it falls apart in FI.

It’s because we all know what the ECM is showing. Until that’s onboard there’s no point being excited imo.

The trouble with the ECM is that northerly looks like it’s on borrowed time and would turn milder soon after.

I know some think it’s a myth, but the Meto text updates often seem to lag the models by 24hrs.

Good for you and I sincerely hope you’re correct. However yesterday’s wobbles and then today’s GFS and GEM gave me a very familiar sinking feeling.

I’m afraid we’ve all seen this movie script before. The inevitable chipping away of the cold spell has begun by a couple of the models. I expect this will now continue and we’ll be left with a few frosts if we’re lucky. Hard to remain positive when you’ve see this painful process many time previously.

Amazing charts - the only problem really is the only way is down from here - because they are already as good as it gets!
