  1. Yes cold was well established by then and the famous Thames streamer arrived on the 2nd, I got absolutely buried. Looking back, 2009 and 2010 were fantastic years for snowfall in my part of the world.
  2. That’s a cracking chart imo. The low pressure will cut back sw and develop an easterly.
  3. Don’t agree with him regarding milder for the south east next week. I don’t think the milder air will make it at all.
  4. Beasterly on its way on 12z GFS by the looks of it (Day 10 onwards)?
  5. I’m more interested in the developing scandi heights. They’ll push the pesky PV away.
  6. Someone’s going to have to explain to me why GFS sees this mainly as a dry chart.
  7. If it wasn’t for the snowy low (which could easily not happen) that would be an underwhelming run with the cold air not hanging around long and no sign of a quick reload.
  8. Doesn’t look like it to me (for South Downs) . What am I missing?
  9. Therefore worrying about the GEFS strat forecast at two weeks range is a bit futile.
  10. What a strange thing to say. I’m sure the RMS or Universities teaching Meteorology degrees don’t just make up terminology on the go.
  11. Please explain how a large area of high pressure will strengthen an Atlantic low. And please use standard meteorological terms.
  12. No, I really don’t think it was . Happy to be proved wrong with actual charts or forecasts.
  13. Not sure - but I’m pretty sure an SSW has ended a cold spell before.
  14. Yes, of course! Where are you? Surely not London as per your profile?
