    Did you see the 18z last night. What was that all about?

    Yes cold was well established by then and the famous Thames streamer arrived on the 2nd, I got absolutely buried. Looking back, 2009 and 2010 were fantastic years for snowfall in my part of the world.

    If it wasn’t for the snowy low (which could easily not happen) that would be an underwhelming run with the cold air not hanging around long and no sign of a quick reload.

    Please explain how a large area of high pressure will strengthen an Atlantic low. And please use standard meteorological terms.
