    Good spot. The main difference is ‘78 had a more robust area of high pressure towards the south east of Greenland.

    If we forget about a quick return to cold (think that’s off the table now) and focus on a white Christmas, quite exciting times with much potential from all models except UKMO. The icon is potentially very good if the complex low system moves away in time.

    It’s not hard to see why a lot of Americans aren’t interested in believing in global warming. They seem to get incredible cold each winter.

    You can’t really use ecm uppers to argue against an outcome on a Met Office fax chart.

    Very nice run that for the east especially. Basically this is what we want i.e the mild to have a really good go at getting in, then being pushed back at the last moment. So far we’ve basically either had the cold winning or the Atlantic winning. What we need is a very delicate dance between the two and we could still hit the jackpot yet.
