  1. I've noticed that as well, I don't want anything over 25°C in summer really, specially when out running or cycling up hills, one gets very hot! As you see in my preferences, I like 13-22°C, with a mix of cloud/sun as well so we're similar in that regard but I like even milder in winter. I'd like a lot more thunderstorms though in general than the UK gets.
  2. The cold doesn't affect me at all but there is a thick ground frost out there still, slippery and quite dangerous on my walk earlier.
  3. Yes so typical, I had a feeling this might happen, thankfully im coping Ok, though my inside temps aren't quite as high as Ideal (except the bedroom which I need ventilated at night). Since getting fitter I'm more cold and warm tolerant though. 14 stone muscly people tend to be pretty warm blooded as well! I tried applying for the "warm home discount" this year but was not eligible unfortunately!
  4. Woke up in the bedroom to 10°C, as the window is open for ventilation, as I sleep badly in stagnant air, and my burning nerve pain virtually stops when it's cooler. I'm very warm under a thick duvet. The room will be heated during the day with the window shut. Thermostat for the lounge is set to 18°C and it can take some time to reach that in these cold conditions. When I post low indoor temps it's not bragging or trying to prove "I'm "tough" or score points, it's because I can't afford to keep heating on overnight; I live in an old poorly insulated building, and due to medical reasons sleep much better in a very cool bedroom. Just how it is. I'm so glad to be on a forum where everyone understands and respects people's differences of course.
  5. And who would that be, then? I looked through that whole thread (which I started), and couldn't see a single post indicating anything of that sort. And yeah, some people aren't lucky enough to have temps of 21°C inside all the time. I'm lucky to afford to keep it around 15-17 in the day with my heating on as much as I can afford. I'm physically fit and pretty cold tolerant thankfully, but my financial situation isn't the best at the moment. I also make sure to wear plenty of layers. I do have to keep ventilation in the bedroom, which means it can get cold in there, and that is due to medical reasons, as I have a nerve disorder that means I have to keep my feet cold so as not to get burning pains in them (a sort of neuropathy) so I have posted some low indoor temps in that room. I tend to overheat when I sleep and again this due to the medical condition. Yes temps can get to 10°C in there, no it isn't a "badge of honour" but the only way I can sleep comfortably and the ventilation helps to prevent damp. Don't go calling people "idiots", not very polite really, especially when you're not brave enough to name who you're talking about.
  6. 11.7°C a bit earlier in the lounge but now up to 14.1°C with the heating on.
  7. If you mean the 500mb temperature, then I totally agree.
  8. Can hardly wait for temps to hit the double figures again.
  9. 15.5°C. And yes the heating's been on a while.
  10. At the moment the apartment is going down to 12°C at night and up to 17°C in the day with the heating on as much as I can afford.
  11. I'm struggling to pay the heating bills this winter, disappointing to see lots of colder than average conditions in the forecast.
  12. Despite the cold start to the month, it will be notably mild in the end, with a CET of 9.9°C.
  13. I don't use heating overnight so the lounge had gone down to a shocking 12.5°C when I got up. Heating's on now though obviously.
  14. Too cold for me today. What rubbish weather, dark cold and drizzling. With my heating on it's still only reaching 16 degrees inside and costing a fortune with it.
  15. Today's weather has sure been rubbish. Cold, foggy, drizzly and dull all day. Hopefully not to last.
  16. 16.7°C in the lounge after turning the heat on for a bit.
  17. The first half of 2013 was the worst I've ever experienced in my life. Spring was absolutely dire. The below 0 March (in Buxton at the time) with its constant perishing NE wind was hideous and made me feel like I'd relocated to another climate altogether. April was miserable, and May also cold, with then a cold, miserably June. Thankfully we got the long awaited decent July after an appalling string of cold wet summers. But August was merely average. 2013 was a strange year.
  18. 12.7°C in the bedroom. It feels so good to get into a cold crisp bed!
  19. Heavy rain again today. Looks like an other wet month, making it the fourth wet month in a row.
