  1. Got the a.m. radio on, low khz station, should pick up any sferics from the ppn north east of stoke if any.
  2. This is within a few minutes, towers going up quite quickly, bit of a shaving foam effect. They appear to be forming from the south, Congleton direction, but slowly moving south east. Garden thermometer 22°. Just love the anticipation and cloud watching.
  3. This is looking south east from Macclesfield, lots more behind it, but can't get it on shot, too built up.
  4. Just caught up with this thread, some absolutely fantastic pictures, thanks to all for posting them, feels like I've had a taste of your weather too.
  5. Just getting a few blobs of rain now from the cell that moved up from you. No, no lightning, the only sferics the radio is picking up is my washing machine, been listening to the white noise from it for 2 hours now, time to turn it off, daughter thinks I'm off my rocker.
  6. Just got back from a walk with daughter, Prestbury, Alderley Edge. Caught a brief shower which dried within minutes, since then we could feel the humidity and a slight heavy oppressive feel too. The air certainly feels heavy enough, like you, it's fingers crossed.
  7. Not too sure without Zak confirming it, but it looks like windy.com.
  8. I hope it comes up a little more north, actually a little further north so Sheffield is in with a shout too.
  9. I didn't manage to see any last night, unlike the night before. So l am looking forward to seeing anything any of you may have captured, so thanks in advance for making the effort to film and post.
  10. I'm sure you've captured Lyrid meteor at about 1:40, correct me if I'm wrong. I managed to see 3 of them between 10:15 and 11:20 pm. One for a split second was travelling the other two appeared as bright white flashes. Daughter and I doing a meteor watch tonight.
  11. I was going to suggest satellites, there's been a lot on the move recently, however these appear stationary.
  12. Hi and welcome. Personally it's the pure rawness, you can't beat a storm exactly as it happens. It's all about the anticipation too, looking at forecasts, charts and radar watching. Good quality sound too, to capture a good crack of thunder like the sky is ripping apart does it for me.
  13. Buona pasqua, per favore tieni al sicuro.
  14. I managed to catch a couple of strikes, filming with my tablet. Will get daughters help editing and then I'll post them.
  15. Fantastic stuff, frequent thunder, caught 3 flashes. Loud and proud.
  16. Sferics on the radio very frequent and growing in intensity. Had 9 absolutely decent cracks of thunder, been looking to the skies in the radar direction not seen any lightning. Its really popping now.
  17. I have thunder, and the heady aroma of petrichor. Bring it on. Better than a chocolate egg.
  18. Just having a few spots of rain at the moment here in Macc.
  19. Same here, I'm about 57 miles from you. Started the day clear with altocumulus, crud set in from the north mid morning. Now low cumulus forming under it from north to east direction. Have my radio tuned into a station about 540khz, so hoping to pick up any sferics as the day goes on. The sun trying its best where crud levels are thin. Fingers crossed and good luck to all.
  20. Two strikes noted on Blitzortung, south of llanwrst, and one to the west towards Ruthin. Random strikes, looks like they are social distancing too.
  21. ESTOFEX are back up and running. When did that happen? Gone dull and murky in my part of Cheshire, very doubtful for anything convective, doubtful for even a drop of rain.
  22. Thanks for your reply, I wondered also if it could be the lack of flight data.
  23. ESTOFEX have no valid storm forecasts available, last forecast was 24/25th March. Has this service been temporary suspended due to the current global crisis? Am I having a mushy pea brain moment and missing something? Can anyone shed any lightning on the matter. Pun intended. Thank you.
