  1. And so to bed. Very informative and entertaining tonight, thank you all. I am unusually not too excited about this as a] I have to get the flipping Cat to the Vet on Sat and that road will be a slalom by then. Then I am supposed to be going to Leeds on Sunday! May have to can the Leeds trip but have to get the darned Cat to the vet. She may need a Coat to go over her Coat if I have to walk there. Goodnight all and I hope every one of you gets what they wish for. CJ. x p.s My Daughter's firm was sent an email from the Met Office this afternoon [she works central London] warning of heavy Snow and possible Train problems.
  2. I know! It was the same last night as I said then. Nowcasting will be the order of the day I think. I am also worried about my Gas Bill, Old people, Birds etc and having a Car Crash. Other than that it looks great!!
  3. Peter Cockcroft said at 6.50 this evening that there would be Snow followed by rain on Friday bringing less cold temps. I don't think anyone really knows what will happen, reminds me of 80s Winters when this was always happening.
  4. Exactly. The input into the Computers corralates with what you get out! The same with any other programme. Only Mother Nature herself can know exactly what is going to happen, and she is NOT telling.
  5. I have the same reading. Just hope everyone stays safe. At least most of the leaves are now off the Tree's!
  6. St Thomas of canterbury on the high road. Tonight it is being no help at all. Winds are getting quite bad now. Where are you?
  7. Archiesmummy, you live about 3 miles away from me. I do have a Chuch which does help block the bad gusts [sometimes] other times their tiles just end up in front Garden. lol Didn't mean I owned a Chuch. ROFL. It's just next to where I live.
  8. Sting Jet? Please give more info, why would there be one? cheers. Gust just shook the House, everyone still sleeping though.
  9. Barometer has dropped rather a lot now. I think the southern counties will suffer more from this low. I wish that I slept in the back of the House, all Southerly or SW or even SE winds keep me awake. And my daughter too. Son will wake up as usual not hearing anything. Would swop but he is not having my en-suite! lol
  10. Wind just started, hurling against my bedroom window. Just don't want my favourite Tree in the House! lol
  11. I honestly thought that the Met Office had stopped this due to their dire track record! I would rather check out of the window first.
  12. I can hear Thunder now. Just to my east there is a big cell. But it's moving away so I won't see anything from that one. There is still time though.
  13. 27c here and the cloud has suddenly bubbled up in the past hour. Could be an interesting afternoon.
  14. My Son who has lived and worked in Valencia for a few years now, reports that this May has been the hottest for some time. Where May is usually pleasant [with some rain] temps it has been 38c and over for some weeks. The locals are dreading the Summer now. Great to have a Holiday in but no fun when you are working!
  15. This would not surprise me at all. I have spent the last few days in Leeds. It was cold and a bit of laying snow around, but on my drive home today the temps gradually dropped from 10c in sunny Leeds down to sleet/rain and 5c as I got closer to home! My back garden is still covered in Snow! Plenty of ops for the cold to get into the south east again I fear [bit of a mildie, me] Mind you, am off to the Carribean in two weeks. lol
  16. Seems I made the right choice in coming up to Leeds this morning instead of tomorrow morning. Although there was ice rain [which was horrible] it was not too bad and only a light snow shower here. How long before it all melts do you think? I don't want to be stuck up here forever. lol
  17. 11cm here, I just went out and measured it. About 5" in old money. Car is buried and if the kids think I am picking them up in the morning they can think again. Too many people can't drive in Snow! I was taught to drive in the winter of '82 so I HAD to learn. lol
  18. Off to bed. Hope that everyone get's what they want. See y'all tomorrow night. [i'm going to get divorced over this constant watching] Sleep well as hopefully we will be watching the real thing instead of hopecasting. xxxx
  19. I think we had one in 81/82? I locked myself out in it! there was apparently a tv warning about it but I was outside trying to kick the door in! Funny now, but awful then. We got about 8" snow out of that thing.
  20. Lampost watching was all we had when I was a kid. Even when I worked for the Aircraft owners I could only get info from the met office if one of my chaps wanted to fly in bad weather. [idiots, old pilots, bold pilots but no old bold pilots] Yes, those times were great, we didn't have to pay the heating bills. lol
  21. 73mtrs asl, which means it's always flipping windy here! lol But we certainly don't suffer from waterlogged gardens. Will pop that into my profile, keep forgetting. Age you know. lol There are things you can take for that. lol
