Sorry Andy if I said that, I just get excited and happy for other people in my region if they get interesting weather.
Lets hope we get a dumping of Hertfordshire snow
No worries pal, nothing to be sorry about.
A few flakes in two years about time we got dumped on!
-
Certainly thunder here (a few miles south-southwest of Norwich) during the passage of the cold fronts/squall line, those Netweather radar lightning overlay suggested they we to the east of my location.
I know there was thunder in your area, It was just Mikey is only a couple of miles from me, and I had not heard thunder? yet his original post seemed to say he had heard thunder, that's why I was asking.

Hello Andy, I work in stanstead abbotts. The squall lasted about 5-10 mins and was quite lively, should have filmed it on my phone. I heard there was thunder in Norwich but I couldn't hang around for reports here as I had so much to get done.
Sorry I thought you said you heard thunder, that's why i asked?
Showers keep dying off from the west cannot see much getting here tonight
-
Where do you work Mickey? We had about 5 mins of wind and rain but no thunder?

Blimey precip is struggling to reach my location. Still isn't surprising because we always we're on the cusp!
I remain hopeful though.
Put your self in my shoes! All gone either side of here! 8 minutes until lamppost is out
-
Nothing from the sky here, no rain, sleet or snow, and only 27 mins before lamppost goes off!
-
Rain alarm keeps going of on my phone, but it just feels to mild here? Have not checked the temp, just got in from work, and log burner will not be needed as it feels warm
-
If it makes its way down to the south I can see an inch or two settling, more on higher ground
I am sure the Met are watching it closely, would be a nice bonus to compensate for the rain/sleet this morning
Been watching it for most of the afternoon, and it's not making any inroads South, so not expecting it to get anywhere near us
-
I take it what is building in the Bristol channel is the snow chance for tonight? Will this not just fizzle out like it did Thursday night? Or indeed build and offer some a few cms?
-
A brief minute of big flakes, now turned to rain
-
Looks like, from the reports it is snowing all around me, a couple of flakes that's about it
-
Thunder just starting here, gone very dark
-
Ok, sorry i will shut up. Sorry guys and girls.
Getting carried away, as I always do when these events happen.
Mickey
No good looking at detail just yet, all to play for, this keeps being nudged North and then South again, even by tomorrow night this might not be nailed on!
I remember the year before last no warnings yet we had trees snapped in half! And this was in hertford 5 minutes up the road, I have the pictures some where

With all heating off, (only had it on twice this winter) amd log burner not even lit, we are showing 23c In the house! Balmy for his time of year!
-
Wind been howling down the chimmney all night, now seems to have eased off, hoping a few trees might of come down, to top up my logs for next winter

Loved watching that, especially because it's all places I know, the drive from Widford to wareside we do at least twice a week, as my wife's nan is in the nursing home at Widford
Good job

Just got back from morroco, and the weather was horrendous! Did not stop raining, some of the locals were saying it's the worst storms they have had for over 20 years! It's a bit like us if we have a few inches of snow, they just did not know what to do! The first night we ended up with 3" of water all over the hotel floor!
Really nothing more than an autumn storm for us, but for a country not used to having rain, they were really struggling!
-
Lots of big time flooding around here, but not the unusal places? Lots of accidents out there early evening, we were doing 40mph and could not see as the rain was that heavy! Yet cars flying past! Idiots!
-
Got my new log burner installed yesterday, and lit it tonight, very cosy, heating will not go on for a while yet

Travelling down to the South of France on Friday, any chance of some good storms? Or at least nice hot weather?

Quick question, are the winds meant to swing around tonight? It's the only way I can see anything coming this way tonight?
