Just drizzle here now which is helping the melt
-
Nothing here yet, still melting rapidly
-
Nothing but a big melt here
-
Stopping here now, the depth seems to go quite quick, very wet slushy snow, so although nice to watch, not sledging snow!
-
Slowing down here now, and looking at the radar, not much more to come? i thought it was meant to stall, and then drop south again?
-
Been snowing most of the morning, getting a good covering on everything apart from roads and paths, they are just a slushy mess

That viaduct, Carries us over ,Buildings,Railway Line,The river. . . The wind effect is immense. Love The A10.
Have you noticed how dry it has been under there over the last few years though? We often have a walk underneath, lovely walk, especially along the new river!
-
I hope your lamp post is holding out Andy
It is working fine, shame about the bloody weather! Although I have about 40 minutes and then it is turned off anyway!!
-
It was snowing there yes, but it was snow from there on.
I live half a mile in Hertford direction from the viaduct! And honestly been dry most of the day!
But a friend of mine lives in buntingford and most of this winter they have called saying how heavy the snow is, yet been bone dry here, and that is what a 15 minute journey?
-
The channel may be our foe during the Summer but it will be our friend tonight as it will aid the development of precipitation. Essex and Herts looks good for the highest totals as this system begins to pivot and the thames estuary also comes into play
Shows how local it is then, had a bit of sleet, ten minutes of big fat flakes, and then nothing!
The snow on the A10 was that on the viaduct by any chance?
-
A little bit of sleet here now, but so light, in fact been dry almost all day and evening
-
Just drizzle here! Radar looked so good, but looking forward to tomorrow
-
Morning all. A chilly 2.8c here this morning with dp -0.5c. A cold breeze and lots of snow on the wind that isn't settling.
I would also like to join the lamppost out brigade. Ours usually turns off around midnight but when I looked out at 10pm last night it was off. I sense a conspiracy.
was the same here, ours only came on for an hour last night and went off!!! If it happens tonight i will not be happy!!
-
Back in the day Andy - R.I.P banter 2005 - 2007
Happy days though? Was so much fun! Feel a bit lost in there now
Anyway back to the weather, still no bloody light so have not got a clue!
-
Blimey, I have just noticed I have made it past the 3000 post mark... about 2,500 of those were pre-2012 so at least I have curbed my waffling habit!
And if banter was included you would be up to 10,000
-
WAS THAT A SNOWFLAKE!? :o
F&&k knows pitch black outside!!
-
Ours shut off at precisely 00:06 every night, but the nearest lamp post has a blown bulb so I can't see anything. Has yours been off all night then?
NMM wants snowfall tonight for the home counties. May happen in the heavier precips.
They came on for an hour, and all gone off and been off ever since, ours normally go out at 00:15
-
I would report what weather I'm having right now but all I can see is black.
Going to have to ring the council to replace that bulb tomorrow urgently so I can see the snow
That's strange because all our lamp posts are out tonight as well?

once again our pathetic little island grinds to a halt over a bit of snow.. When are we going to learn??? This country is slipping down the pan FAST!
Sorry but that is such a stupid comment!! The track of the low was causing everyone headaches, that is what living on out "pathetic" little island is all about! That is why we have this forum! The weather is so hit and miss!
I bet you would of been on here ranting and raving about how much the council had spent on gritting all the roads, if this low had slipped 50 miles south and missed all of us!
I did not get a flake! But that is why we are all here! So marginal, that we sit here looking at radars, hoping it will shift this way or that way!
Lets put you in charge of a council, and make them descions! Send the gritters out, where would you have sent them, yesterday? Seeing as you are such an expert?
-
Looks like i am just to North today, a few flakes in the wind every now and then but thats it
-
Spoke to soon, stopped as quick as it started
-
Bloody hell just looked out the window and big fat flakes!!
Was to busy looking at the radar thinking nothing was coming this way!
