  1. Surprised there is no meeting of Cobra to discuss tomorrow's storm, with it being predicted on a par with St Jude.............ah it's in the north, now I understand.

I am sure there is a meeting this afternoon? In my eyes the government cannot win! They were being slatted a couple of years back because we were not prepared for the snow, and we need to spend millions on gritters!! Now they are being told they should of spent millions on preventing the floods! On sky they are saying wettest for 250 years not sure how true that is, but how are we meant to prepare for that? And what would the backlash of been if they had spent millions on snow ploughs and gritters for this year for them just to be sitting idle? Our weather in the UK is quite unique, and maybe the millions should be spent on forecasting so we can prepare a bit better?

2 of 2 - due to people ignoring signs, moving cones & driving through the flood water. 7 people have just had to be rescued from their cars.

No rain today, but the lower hatfield road, is flooded! Here is the lower road this morning, upto 3ft in places

  3. There have been reports of Tornado around the Country Andy, I think Harlow as well.So very possible you had one.

Thought it was intense at the time, watching out the window, wheelie bins being picked up and ending up half way down the road, but just put it down to a strong squall! Now I have been out and seen the damage makes me think we did, never seen trees snapped off like that! The one down the road is still standing 12 ft high, the rest is a clean snap and 50 ft up the road!

  4. hi tam i think theres too many posters that are having there own weather preferences i think you do well with your posts to try and be reasonable but it looks like hard work its very hard to get a balanced view in there so its safer to stick to my own thoughts at present been reading too many winters over posts there probably scrambled my brain for now whats the outlook no idea although we have some cold conditions on our doorstep and some interest in how next week fares i do sneak in there occasionally but safer in here now :-)

John I don't think you realise how much your posts help! I think the MAD thread would benefit from your input, you give good balanced views within the reliable time frame, and I know they are the posts I look for on there! I skip or ignore the trolls and people that only comment on 240 charts! Personally I only want to know what is going to happen in the next few days I.E the reliable time frame, and I think you explain this better than anyone, keep up the good work!
