I am personally looking forward to tomorrow more than I was Fridays event, it was painful watching that front edging over, and I know some places close to me got next to nothing, we ended up with 5cm and although we have had fun was not epic! BUT if we have another 5 to 10cm tomorrow on top of the frozen snow, then could be good!
-
Go off line for an hour, look out the window, and snow! Very steady fall as well!
-
Can anyone suggest a good sledging spot to take my children, in Hertfordshire or Bucks. Ideally somewhere not too busy. Any ideas would we welcome. Thanks
Whee do you live? A good place in Hertford?
-
Was hoping for a top up on our 2 inches but just skirting to the east of here!!
-
Must admit, the radar is confusing tonight, every time I look it is changing? Seems I am in a real dry spot at the moment, would be nice for a little more overnight, but does not seem likely at the moment
-
Well as indicated by the NAE, the stuff currently across the SE is now heading Northwards, so there could be a further spell of light snow later this evening for some.
Looks like an event with very small margins - I've just been sent pictures from Hertford (about 25 mins from here) who have had about 2 inches so far
SK
2 inches is spot on, but deeper in places where it has drifted, not had any more fall for about an hour though
-
Does that band of precip look like its slight intensifying as it moves northwards through London? I could be imagining this though, lol ! Looking forward to Sunday now, bring it on!
i thought the same! but sure i read on here earlier, that what has already passed is meant to drop back south again?
-
so its this still expected to drop back south over night?
-
-
heaviest it has been here so far, getting a real good covering now, and according to NW forecast not going to stop all weekend
-
Main Roads are all clear here, but once you get on the side roads, they are very slippery, snow is just compacting on them
Need it to get a bit heavier, if i am going to get the sledges out this afternoon
-
Light snow here now but settling straight away!
-
Another NW record tonight! Must mean snow is coming!
-
Looking at the radar everything seems to be going to plan.
Just want to highlight this for Sunday because the GFS keeps predicting this.

Heavy snow moving NW during Sunday afternoon into the evening. Could be rather marginal for those right on the E coast though.
Dave, maybe it is me worrying from being in similar situations before! But that snow that has built all day, and then stalled about 20 miles away from me! What are the chances of the front tomorrow stalling in the same postion?
-
Well net weather now has us for light snow tomorrow?
-
A few flakes in the wind here now
-
That snow out to our west is slowly heading this way? could this give a surprise covering?
-
I know mate! Just hope this pushes a bit further east so all can get in on the action
-
Just add what I said in the model discussion thread.
Have to be honest Nick im not surprised the models are beginning to be less keen on moving this front E. I said in the regional discussion thread this afternoon that members in E Anglia need to be cautious and to not get their hopes up too high. Sometimes in these situations you are actually better off using experience from past events than using the models.
So im going to come off the fence and say those in E Anglia/SE might only see a dusting and only that applies to those in the W of these regions. I can see locations such as Norwich remaining dry. I reckon the extent of this front will be probably around Birmingham and even the W Midlands will see this front weaken. I would love to be wrong but I remain unconvinced of the BBC forecasts and feel the Met O warnings are OTT.
I used to like you!!

5 minutes ago not a drop of snow to be seen, now the road outside completely covered in snow. Now waiting for the rain.
I suggest you buy NW radar? Those showers are tuning to snow over the North Sea, completly different from last night, the cold is here so will readily fall as snow
-
Well sat up all evening waiting, council have turned my lamppost off! And looking at the radar this is slipping just to east of me!
-
Finally stopped here, and although laying snow, it is a wet mess outside
-
still snowing heavy here, but for how long it has snowed for, a little bit disappointed with the amount we have, and very wet slushy snow, no fun to be out in, is it just me or does it seem to be stalling now? keep checking the radar, expecting to see it clear us, and seems to have stalled
-
been heavy here for the last hour and now starting to settle, although the radar is showing sleet

If this starts heading east, we could get tons!! Although we have had loads, always like the dramatic! Are the winds due to switch?
