  1. Well. I was pretty drunk on the beach. Then went back to hotel. Somehow fell asleep and got woken by massive crash of thunder insane winds. The club downstairs all the railings went over and the members of staff were scrambling, although short lived the initial lead up display on the beach and then a big flash bang flash bang event was amazing. especially because I was hoping that that would seal my 21st birthday, which it did. glad everyone had a show. 2022 certainly has started well. Can the intense summers ( climate change) cause more frequent events like this when the channel is at maxima temp and conditions are a lot more favourable. Ie plumes. 2. Loads of descents but kept the phone at bay until now. Brighton beach with a nice IC and the burnt west pier. Ironic
  3. Could not resist in ankther one. Will try and get some videos and pictures from that. But for now enjoy the show people it seems to be a fine deal for south coast at least IMG_5091.MOV
  4. Just in case this is all we get did a little sunset time lapse. I'm on the beach and people are getting excited !! Good luckk all IMG_5088.MOV
  5. My view for the night. Just off Brighton's coast. Already looks and feels favourable..... we shall be op it see
  6. Thanks man. It certainly couldn't be any better. Tommorow looks as if the sun will be shining too! you will deffo have pics vids and maybe even a time lapse
  7. Instability sun music potentially severe thunderstorms ? can't see it being a busy with the heat on the south coast today !
  8. Back to the room now it's very hot need to put the shorts on
  9. Yeah I'm easy either way it's been great the warm sun is more than enough for me storms are a bonus. thanks a lot have a great day !
  10. Hahaha many thanks man. I hope so. However people seem to be saying it's marginal so we will take it as it goes. There must be some reasoning behind net, convective and met offices upgrades. however I do understand conditions have to be perfect. Suns out here and already very warm in brighton, a lot warmer than forecast and the claggy grey cloud forecast is nowhere to be seen. So in-line with this I do expect cape values to be on the higher end of the spectrum today. Thanks for the happy birthday have a great day and good luck everyone. ps either way today, nothing will happen until tonight. So enjoy the sun have a beer, if your not at work, and get some jobs done and before you know it the end of the day will be here !!
  11. Well I'm laying on brighton beach. May lay here till 9pm. I have a sea view hotel room until tommorow. Turns out my bday was yday and I was here getting drunk. Now to top it off the forecast looks meaty for me today. I will Record from the beach and or my room tonightguys, however could someone tell me how quick should I get off the beach !! If it gets real. if tonight comes off. My 21st birthday would deffo be one to remember. anyway off to enjoy the day and the sunny weather. Watch this space guys on the frontline !!
  12. Well this westward shift is very rapid within 10/15 mins. Everyone saying Kent clipper blah blah blah. Just wait until 8pm at least. Hopefully surprise tonight
  13. Very windy in luton. Watching the planes take off is treacherous, go around a 2 times for last 2 arrivals seem to diverting to Birmingham very windy trees flexing low clouds charging along
  14. Wow ! Must've been a rocky ride. I remember flying home from Canada and landing into Gatwick. 1 failed attempt and both times seeing the sky then the terminal repeatedly, caning crew with black bags full of sick ! Can't wait to see how dodgey the planes go this afternoon. This was virgin Atlantic so used to tropical conditions only. Was v scary
  15. At the moment the grass is waving and leaves are flying about. Nothing more as of yet it precarious trees already bent from strong winds could go over if hit with a 70mph gust. Love a extreme weather event !
  16. I'm near luton airport. Planes taking of directly into the dw winds, watching the wings from side to side I'd hate being on a flight today. Was very calm and blue skies recently but the winds have picked up steady gusty breeze with the occasional roof ratler. Expecting a lot more between 12/2 but it's coming- people will be fooled by the evidently calm and warm sunshine this morning.
  17. Nice little dusting this morning 3rd day or falling snow, 2nd day of settling snow, now tonight seems as if it will snow on the leading edge of the western fueled weather front as it meets the cold air i wonder what they are doing in that house over there ? both times it's snowed that house is melted
  18. Think I could be in with some luck in Luton. But then again knowing my luck it’ll fizzle away to nothing or miss me by a few miles and slide away S!!!!! but let’s not jinx it
  19. Watch from north London too. Evening is best potential with stable air masses. As convection only really amounts to anything with lesser cap, but equally enough CAPE. Imo
  20. Cell S of London. You can’t call it a bust until daylight hours imo the transition between max heating and dusk, is when the cap breaks but stil enough diurnal heating
  21. Well it made it here seem 2 cgs but no thunder seems to be weakening but thankful for the rain!! So hottt IMG_0505.MOV
