  1. Chill in the air this evening. But not a bad day. Calm. A bit grey but dry. Had a nice walk over to my old Dad's house this afternoon.45 minutes away. He is coming 94 next August but still has the old grey matter intact. Had a couple of glasses of port with him.
  2. Yeah. When I was a kid I loved cold and snow but as I have got older the more I dislike it! Back in the day it didn't matter. Now it just gets in the way of everything and just causes disruption. Having said all that I can't deny it does look stunning if a decent snowfall overnight followed by a Sunny blue sky morning . It's just when it starts to thaw and the grit and everything.
  3. This is not a moan. More of a celebration. By Sunday 7th Jan we already have an extra 18 minutes of day light in the evening. A sure sign of things going in the right direction as we once again tilt closer to the sun. The darkness of November/December fading away.
  4. Hope we are all enjoying Christmas eve? I am . Wolves beat Chelsea 2-1. Not too cold either sat out in the stands for 2 hours. Quite blustery. A few drizzly showers otherwise not too bad for mid winter. Enjoy your evening folks.
  5. Yes. Apparently SSW interferes with ongoing weather. It made Spring 2023 cold and wet. No thanks in spring 2024. A re run of Spring 2020 would be most welcome.
  6. Quite pleased with the last week or so. Mild. Haven't had to put the heating on! Wishing ALL contributors to this forum a merry Christmas and happy new year. All the best.
  7. Just had a look at the rain radar and a huge rain event incoming towards Dudley. Could be a few hours of heavy rain.
  8. Would be very nice to have a very mild wet Feb. I look forward to it.
  9. The good thing about today was when I woke up. I got out of bed to have a wash and the house didn't feel like a freezer. If we can keep eeking out a few weeks like this as we eat in to winter great! Always said I can cope with a cold interlude late on in Feb. I know then we are only 4 weeks from spring!
  10. On a personal level today has been the almost perfect winters day. Dry. Sunny. Mild. 12c. I couldn't ask for more.
  11. Oh ok. At least you manage to sandwich in a proper summer!
  12. Blimey. Starts coming back to life Feb if it's mild here. Been occasions when it's been in action early doors. I remember a mild winter think it was 2011/2012 and had the mower out in late Jan !
  13. Pleasant enough today. Light breeze. Fair amount of cloud. Not desperately chilly. Had today and tomoz off. Nice day to get the final fall of leaves off the lawn. Cleaned the lawnmower up. Sprayed a bit of WD40 round it. Keeps it ready for March when it revs in to action again! Cut a few branches back from the years growth. Enjoyable day keeping busy !
  14. The winter of 88/89 was a mild and dry affair. Then followed a chilly March and April if I remember right. But May through October 1989 was a bonanza of warm sunny weather with the occasional thundery interlude. One of my favourite summers 1989. Obviously speaking in the context of the winter gone.
  15. Very much looking forward to the Azores High next weekend. Perfectly positioned. Drawing up SW winds from the Azores. Fairly mild but at least dry.
  16. I don't know. I just have a bit of banter. There are 62 63 fans who love the cold. It's all good.
  17. Rather looking forward to 7c at 6am in the morning. Save me feeling like I am in a refrigerator as I arise from my bed.
  18. Chill out chap. Just a bit of banter. But the prediction was a hot and sunny July. Look out it turned out. No worries.
