  1. Fizzled out now... still without a proper grass covering since 2014
  2. Drip drip drip. Snow is still falling. Dp has risen to just below freezing. Paths are wet and not white. So close to this being a decent event, but its quickly backing off that now.
  3. Weve had about an inch here in Bromborough after say 70 mins of moderate snow. Fair to say this is akready the heaviest single snow event weve had in almost a decade. Big event for us this.
  4. Moderate snow with occasional moments of heavy snow. A covering of about 1-2cm in about an hr
  5. Light snow here, some big flakes blowing too. A flurry. If it helps the temp is 3.6*c but the dp is -2 so the flakes are dry as u like. No melting. Bitter outside.
  6. Ill be looking at temps to the south and east of us as that will be our air source for the main part. We dont need to worry about maritime layers of air ruining the fun
  7. Sounds like for the most of us, what starts off as snow will likely turn to rain or sleet according to the models. Sometimes though, once snow sets in, it can defy forecasts. We just need a bit of luck for a change
  8. Raised the same question on TWO last week. Used to be common. Very rare now.
  9. Just been for a run around willaston, still some snow patches in places. Thats over a week of snow lying. As much as we didnt see much, its stuck around for a notable amount of time.
  10. Managed to dodge 95% of the showers ... west wirral ie heswall -> neston -> chester seems to have done well
  11. Slight dusting here... however weve since had several showers go over us on the radar and nothing is actually falling from the sky
  12. Looks like the showers are starting to veer towards wirral again...
  13. Looks like the showers are starting to veer towards wirral again...
  14. Walkee up to Moel fammau before head torch in the snow. Was quite poor conditions for a while. Theyve had about 3 inches over the tops. And about 1 inch lower down. Had to park in loggerheads and walk up as the roads were pretty icy 20230117_205445.mp4
  15. Looks like the first of 2 or 3 organised bands moving thru now. Eyes to whats leaving northern ireland... looks a much more organised event than the charts alude to
  16. A little bit more life on the radar, but not enough to really trouble us
  17. Radar is a little underwhelming... however the charts point to a rise in activity after dark. Will it though? Im getting the feeling this cold spell has already peaked
  18. I wonder if we get a rash of showers after 4pm, how much will go back to Snow. Very marginal in the afternoon now.
  19. Classic Welsh coast dangler convergance zone now apparent. Set your clock by them - so regular
  20. Ive been looking through photos, the last time we got anything like that was either 2010, or perhaps 2006. I remember we had say 3 or 4, depth of > 4-5inch+ Snowfalls before I was 20... havent had one since then though... Im 40 in April.
  21. its aso interesting to see the showers dying before they make any dent inland... quite unusual to see such a short lifespan. Not even getting 5 or 6 miles inland currently... usually get past the M56 at least
