  1. Started the day off at -5*c now +5*c with no sign of any showers. They started off to our west, now running to our north. They umped clear over east Wirral and mersey.
  2. Thats nuts you escaped the frost. We got to -5*c in Bromborough. Proper white everything. We are only say 4 miles away from you as the crow flies. Saw that shower this morning from a distance, we didnt get it, but it was that lovely grey/ivory colour cloud that is just snow.
  3. Aye same on the Wirral Will be interesting how low we go tonight, almost -5*C last night, probably the coldest night for say 1-2 yrs. Definitley this year. Cloud cover might affect the temps tonight
  4. Just took the dog for a walk, one side of the road firmly sub zero and still in frost. Bitter. The other side, gloriously warm and sunny. As you say - you can really feel the strength on your clothes, so perhaps a strong sun day - unusual 2 weeks from the shortest day.
  5. That says to me: Hail bonded to my window wipers, and a crust to my car window that a hammer and chizzle wouldnt shift
  6. I suspect the Met have issued that to cover the option the risk could re-emerge. Their forecasts have been mainly dry, but by the looks a couple of hi res models have started to put some more meat on the bones for Thursday now MWIS for snowdonia mention it would be a very narrow band of snow on Thursday, so im not expecting anything major.
  7. These are two different runs, one is 03z aand the other 09z The 09 seems to be an upgrade for North west England and West midlands
  8. Hey Guys Anyone savy to tell me how to download - say a years data from Wunderground on my weather station? Ive had a go at running the API keys through excel, but i just couldnt get it working. any ideas? Im fed up with monthly views.
  9. I was in the major storm that hit Menorca on Sunday Morning 25th Sept (Date is wrng on the imgur link) i was lucky /unlucky to be caught in the biggest storm ive ever witnessed early hours of Sunday morning on Menorca. Having witnessed an afternoon of storms all evening at an arms distance (north coast of Majorca mainly) We had a direct hit, flashes of lightning were in the region of 3 strikes per SECOND. Hail the size of sprouts, (Others reported larger) and 100kph winds. It was like godzilla was about to arrive. The next day there was no electricity in the resort, and debree was strewn far and wide. The pools were full of debris for days after, we never got to use them as they were brown and full of sludge and furniture. It was clear from a run I did later in the day that the roads had been like rivers over 1ft deep with residue marks on cars and buildings. some footage i took (approx 3am) Major thunderstorm in Menorca 30-Sept-2022 IMGUR.COM 1176 views on Imgur: The magic of the Internet Some footage
  10. No way!! - i was litterally about a coupe hundred metres back up the Prom with a very similar photo and video It came up on facebook today as a memory. Unfortunatley I wasnt in the car when it hit, and it hurt getting pelted by those hailstones. My wife had to use me as shelter as the worst past over... probably the most extreme weather ive experienced so suddenly on the Wirral. It was borderline dangerous.
  11. likely to roll over to full snow, nice line of moderate / heavy showers streamer fashion. Local temps are dropping from what i can see on Wunderground
  12. Yorkshire and the northern eastern aspects of England always do well from a breakdown situation after a cold spell... fronts move in from the west or south west always seem to slow and stall over them
  13. Tomorrow looks like being quite squally - my Park run at birkenhead could be interesting at 9am
  14. Frequent showers now, hail and rain mostly. I reckon if this starts to impact temp - we might get some sleet. Need a couple more heavy hail showers to pull the temp down a bit
  15. that feature into Wales has sparked off alot of action for southern parts of the region... unless we get heavy consistent showers, it will likely just be rain for the most part. uppers are ok though
  16. I think its got a chance for maybe wirral and Cheshire... Some models we pointing at some enhancement into the mersey bay. so im watching the radar to see if there is some stretch and enhancement north. This was well modelled about 150-200 miles south. Nothing had this hitting north wales.
  17. That feature running in from the irish sea is way further north than any models forecast.. could potentially reach merseyside with uppers of -5 to -6 this could be a surprise event... watching
  18. saw some cracking shower clouds to our north this morning... that classic bright clear sky you get in cold airflows... with an eruption of dark feathery topped cloud next to it in contrast, presumably your way. Weve just had the odd blustery light rain shower where i am. infact its been mostly dry (as expected)
  19. Ive been confused all week at the hype generated around this today, the wind direction, the temps, everything said to me - heavy hail showers... and the forecast agreed. If only that front the other day occluded and we stayed in the surface temps delivered earlier. took the dog for a walk before and I didnt need gloves... that speaks volumes... even for the wirral.
