  1. Wow, that would be genuinely heart-breaking IMBY... I'll just have to try and be happy for the Southerners haha.
  2. I've just arranged to drive into the office on Wednesday, maybe that will jinx the snow into falling now!
  3. People on the south coast don't get rain, so it's obvious 'better for everyone'! I'd much prefer a big frontal snowstorm, enjoy that for a day or 2, then the weather can go back to normal for all I care.
  4. Now that's a chart I can get behind! Rain line gets a bit too close for comfort IMBY, but I guess that's the risk you take to end up in the purples.
  5. These GFS runs seem to be pushing an insane amount of cold down into the US, I bet they're cheering for it over there. It seems a bit OTT to be true though...
  6. If this is still what happens with a horrible run like this, I feel pretty good about the snow chances next week!
  7. What's the point though, if we don't get any snow? If it's not going to snow I'd rather it be mild so I don't freeze to death on the school run
  8. I guess that would do the job! I guess that would do the job! I guess that would do the job!
  9. Hmm right over my house in the Midlands...Even if it's just a dusting it would make things nice and wintery, and stick around for a couple of days while it's cold.
  10. Given how even on supposedly dry days it's always ended up chucking it down this last month or so, I wouldn't be surprised if this happened!
  11. Yep, in my neck of the woods we had a week and a half of very chilly weather and frosts, including enough snow to build a respectable snowman and a 48 hour spell where it didn't get above 0. And I'm hardly North of the Wall! A distant memory now, but if that doesn't qualify as a cold spell I don't know what does.
  12. Absolutely beautiful here today, actually feels warm in the sunshine. If it's not going to be cold, I'll take this any day!
  13. I got hammered by Cheshire gap showers in Dec 2017. Yes please!
  14. Assuming it stops raining at about mid-day as forecast, that will be 48 hours of non-stop rain here. Sometimes drizzle, but I'm pretty sure it's never actually stopped.
  15. What a transformation, 24 hours from winter wonderland to rain-sodden hellscape. Foggy and 3 degrees too. Just horrific.
  16. Chucking it down with rain now, hard not to imagine what might have been if it was a few degrees colder...
  17. Snowman made! Surprisingly there's no sign of melting on car windows etc yet. Such a shame we couldn't have had this at the start of the cold spell instead.
  18. Had a couple of cm in the end, better than I was hoping for. It still feels very cold, hard to believe rain is forcast in a couple of hours. My kids want to go out in it now while it's still dark!
  19. You're not that far south of me, curious to see if there's anything left in the morning here.
  20. I think this counts as snow! Probably as much as I'll get, but nice to see it.
  21. Getting something a bit more substantial here now, still just a light covering but better than nothing!
