  1. I doubt they forecast a totally sunny day, even in London, with the rainy hellstorm that's sweeping over the country at the moment. Looking at the radar it might have hit London an hour or so ahead of schedule, but it was always coming.
  2. At this point I don't care about heatwaves anymore, I'd settle for dry and reasonable warm. All I want is to be able to sit on my lawn in shorts and t-shirt without my backside getting wet and my arms and legs feeling cold!
  3. Convectively Coupled Kelvin Wave. Now as for what that means, you'll have to ask someone else!
  4. Yeah it was horrible, Rihanna's Umberalla was in the charts for weeks which was ironic! Luckily it brightened up for the 2nd of August for my wedding!
  5. You people are sick haha (no offence)
  6. Bit disappointing here, forecast was for 26 C and bright sun, but in reality there's a lot of cumulus bubbling up so it's shaded half the time, and there's a fairly stiff breeze. Was really hoping for a unequivocally hot day before the gloom sets back in!
  7. Making slow-cooked beef stew and dumplings for dinner, in July! Gives me an excuse to have the oven on for a few hours, might warm the house up a bit...
  8. Anything but warm and dry here! I should move to Dover Looks like we'll get a decent day on Friday at least, I'll take even if I'd prefer a bit more!
  9. Bloody freeeeeezing on the school run this morning. Sun was out but clouded over the instant we left the house of course. I'm doing my best to keep the shorts-and-t-shirt faith, but my resolve is weakening...Next week looks like 20-ish most days instead of 16-18, so that's something to look forward to I suppose
  10. Weather apps giving me a max of 16 tomorrow, wet and windy with it too. Jesus wept...
  11. Haha, that's exact opposite of my house, it takes days of hot weather for it to get really warm inside, even during the 40C spell (35 here) it didn't get much over 30 upstairs. Come winter though, it'll be freezing if the heating goes off for an hour!
  12. Don't let the poor sods on the North Sea coast hear you saying it was nationwide!
  13. Given our crappy weather, wouldn't the usual mean temps for July generally include a rough spell though? If the second half of the month is rubbish too then fair enough. I'm taking the kids to Swansea at the same time, so it's double cursed...
  14. Miserable here today, grey and chilly with occasional drizzle. Socks and t-shirt on all day for the first time in ages, much more of this and I'll be back in long trousers! Depressing to think there could be a couple of weeks of this sort of thing at least...
  15. Ugh please no, the worst summer I can remember. There were so many snails in the garden you could actually hear them chewing the plants, on the occasions the rain stopped long enough for it to be quiet!
  16. I wonder if there's any possibility it's seeing an early TS curving back around, Orphelia style. That pulled up a lot of heat and it was in October, not June!
  17. This time yesterday I was out in the paddling pool with the kids in bright sunshine, now it's 16 C and raining. Hard not to hate British weather sometimes!
  18. Sods law though that if the models all start showing things turning crap that's what's going to happen...(It's not predicting a washout to be fair, just the standard London hot/Midlands cloudy/North wet summer weather we usually get)
  19. Balls. I know it's unreasonable, but I'd only really be happy with a summer that was hot, dry and sunny for the full 3 months, and then a warm September/October to boot. It hasn't even been that long of a good spell, but I'm used to it now and I'm really not ready to go back under the clouds!
  20. Near constant rumbling here as storms pass neatly to the north and south of Telford. Curse you weather gods!
  21. 20230610_161928.mp4 Clouds bubbling up on the horizon now, would be nice to see a thunderstorm!
  22. Whew, this is a shock to the system! Not super accurate of course, but my car thermometer was reading 30-31 all the way across the Midlands from Leicester to Telford this afternoon, only dropping to 29 when I got home, it's a bit cloudier here. Times like this I really wish the air-con in my car was working...
  23. Surprise blizzard here! Really sticking too. Doubt it will last too long once it stops though.
