  1. I was hoping to pop down to the coast very late this afternoon to cool off in the sea, be a shame if my trip is scuppered by thunderstorms as I've been waiting for this chance since the heatwave started, but then again, love a storm too - dilemma
  2. OK, from an imby South East (south coast) perspective, when will the wind drop? This morning I was looking at next week and it seemed calmer, quieter and even a bit sunny. I get home this evening and it is back to cloud and brisk wind with 30mph gusts. What happened whilst I was out?
  3. No sooner had I typed that and we finally have a lull in the rain - I'm off to fit my roof rack and grab some vitamin D... Well, that sunny spell didn't last long
  4. Yep, the rain showers are more like just "rain" here, every time I think it has stopped and intend to go outside, it's rains again...
  5. Dropped in to check today's SE weather opinions and see I'm not alone in my disappointment! I was promised sun all day again too, didn't last very long. I've obviously been spoilt by the new normal Mediterranean climate here in the SE
  6. Garden centre delivered my summer bedding today just in time for winter to return! I've spent most of the day trying to work out what needs protecting outside and making space for everything else to come back into the conservatory for a week or so
  7. Hello from lockdown I'm one of the fortunate people to have a garden and be on furlough. Really looking forward to some sunshine and warmth to lift our spirits and give us some much needed vitamin D.
  8. We had a really intense and fairly prolonged downpour earlier which was good for the garden of course and now the clouds have built up again - looking pretty dark out, expecting another downpour just in time for my cycle home
  9. Lovely clear evening again here, albeit stiflingly hot of course
  10. Thunderclaps and lightning in Wallington, few drops of rain but gone quite dark and the temp dropped. Sitting in the garden just enjoying it...
  11. Morning, well that was an event that promised so much and delivered so little. It just never felt quite cold enough and with all those gaps in the precipitation, we just didn't get enough of the heavy stuff. On the plus side, I'm flying to Italy tomorrow so Gatwick should be functioning and it's snowing heavily in the mountains today!
  12. Quite a lot of snowflakes out there, but having very little impact, really must get some sleep. Damn those met office graphics
  13. One *last look out the front window before sleep and there is snow in the air but not convinced any of it is actually landing, just recirculating, frustrating. *Might just check again in a bit
  14. Still snowing lightly here, and the great thing about having the dry cold in first, is that not a single flake is wasted. Everything that comes down is still out there somewhere (Wallington)
  15. And I sing it in my head every time I see or hear his name
  16. This is so distracting, have lots to do but can't stop reading the forum and looking out the front door
  17. Met Office is going for snow at 10pm tomorrow now, so maybe no rush hour chaos after all? Disappointing
  18. Nice to see our patience rewarded today, for a while there, it looked like we were all eagerly awaiting a short rain to sleet affair
