  1. Can't believe how lucky we have been in the last couple of weeks, I think Dave mentioned several days ago that we in Peterborough missed out on snowfall so many times in the 2010 cold spell, when all around us where getting hit. Law of averages perhaps?
  2. Temp and dp rising slowly and steadily here +0.3 and -1.3 and snow still pouring down here.
  3. Reckon we are at a level 9 here, it really is coming down and settling on all surfaces.
  4. Full on rain in Nottingham at the mo', not really sure where the snow line is but def still snow here.
  5. Welcome Nene Carper, officially my nearest NW neighbour! Enjoy the forum, its a great read!
  6. Agreed, 30mm per hour, proper precipitation! Edit. That'll be a 12 on SM's snow scale
  7. Just had a quick read of the North West regional thread, some of them up there are getting hammered with snow, some reporting that they are experiencing the heaviest falls that they have ever seen. I have got just about everything crossed that we get a bit of the same later.
  8. Temperature racing up here, from -5.1 at 8am to +0.7 now according to Peterborough weather watch. doesn't bode well for later. I think a post on the model thread showed the NMM and it shows just sleet to rain. I still have a gut feeling though that winter is not over just yet.
  9. I have just checked and the highest temperature I have recorded at home since Monday the 14th of Jan has been 1.5c, coupled with an all day snowfall last Sunday, this has been a very memorable cold spell for me. Need it to all go now though as yesterday I had to walk a mile on some 'ice rink' pavements, extremely dangerous but at least I managed to stay on my feet though, well this time anyway.
  10. Nice Paul, My scores are all 6/10 apart from the last one which is a 5, so a total of 29, I'm happy!
  11. Paul, I think my question has been missed, can I refer you back to post 2735, many thanks.
  12. I cannot upload photographs to the site, is there any guidance anywhere or can someone just point by point explain what I need to do? Thanks.
  13. Just been out for another walk around the village and down by the Nene, incredible scenes. Just had another measure on the table that I cleared completely yesterday morning and there is 16cms, 6 and a half inches, put that in ya pipe and smoke it Met Office! If my laptop would let me upload some pics I would, but between the site and my useless Acer laptop, I can't seem to. Has anyone got any tips? Ta.
  14. I went to bed at about 10.15 last night, what did I miss? There must be an additional 3-4cms out there from when I went to bed and I thought it was just coming to an end! Incredible scenes in my garden and in the village. My wife has just called and said the A47 and the A1 are not too bad but on one of the roads out of the village, she couldn't keep the car staright! (nothing new there then! ) Sod it, I'm gonna have a 'snow day', better put the camera battery on charge!
  15. Just had a stroll round the village and I can confirm that we are now getting the heaviest snow that we've had all day, 20p size and incredible intensity. My patio table showing 10cms of fresh snow today from just over 10 hours snowfall. This has been the best snowfall I can remember since I have been in Peterborough, and I moved here in 1997. Wonderful.
  16. Very fine again now but the intensity is still there. Looking at the different radars, we could still have 4-6 hours to come, incredible. Currently a 5 on the SM scale.
  17. Just had a quick measure and 7cms has fallen and laid today, most of it in the last couple of hours as the first 3 hours between 11 and 2 didn't really produce anything measurable. It is very light at the mo' though but duration might be our friend today. My table in the garden is now showing 12cms with falls/melts and top ups since last Monday, I'm very happy.
