That's a bit of a distortion of the truth. You're correct in saying that the Earth's climate changes in cycles. This is over thousands of years though, not such extreme shifts within decades as currently being experienced.

Cloud overhead now, seems thick and slow moving. Would love to see a thunderstorm. Give everything a nice quick refresh before we go back to wall to wall blue skies and heat

Crazy the contrasts today. Feels hotter here than yesterday! Much more humid feel too with some cumulus and stratus in the distance.

I think as it's been so dry too and far from cold in most places, that must help to quicken the heater up.

What an absolute peach this month is turning out to be. Feels like being on a city break waking up to clear blue skies, a hot light breeze and that dry smell in the air. Didn't need a jacket even coming home at 4am! It's here. We've made it. I'm emotional.

Think we'll have our first 25C in London today! They all reflect the area they are in I'd say. The distance between the stations can have a marked affect sometimes, in particular with sunshine levels. But yes, if you want to know specifically the weather/climate of central London, then St James Park is your best bet.

In terms of temperature measuring validity it is negligible as the station is not located on the asphalt, rather an area of grass a bit North of the runways. I don't think it would help or hinder activists to use data specifically from Heathrow in terms of comparative difference to the past - unless you're not referring to climate change activism?

I think Heathrow managed about 100 days last year. Now that I would love to see beaten!

When was the last time 30C was recorded by the 10th of June? For Heathrow I think it might have been May 2005.

With the sun out already I feel today could be the warmest day of the year so far here. Cloud burned back very quickly for a change. Only Sunday beats it so far this month for blue skied-ness! Bring on the warmth and potential thunderiness this weekend I say. Kind of has that classic but not extreme summery vibe to things this year. Like how I remember 2004/2005 being. Would be happy if that were the case - no doubt with a modern twist and slightly more extreme temps within any heatwaves.

It really is the lingeringness of thick grey cloud for days on end that gets to me. I can handle it for a day or 2, perhaps more in autumn and winter Anything more than that is depressing. The particular cloud setup we've had the last few weeks has been notable. Very sheet-like which means you go from leaden grey skies to crystal blue in a matter of minutes. Quite something. -
The new builds really do save you the world in your heating bill it's true. We turned ours off in January and never looked back. Seem to be especially lucky with our flat though I've never known anything like it. But it does get VERY hot in the summer. I wouldn't mind a Victorian house for the aesthetic and if I could be self sufficient with energy.
