  1. Happy new year fellow forumers. This year starting off very much where last year left off. Grey and mucky. No fear though. I leave the country next week and I have no doubt the following few weeks will bring glorious winter weather
  2. I notice often that the Horfield one falls way short of realistic sunshine values throughout the year.
  3. Mid June is when I see potential! Oh poo, wrong discussion...
  4. Doesn’t matter. March onwards is spring. No need to ruin that season too just because the previous one couldn’t get its act on!
  5. Not even that tbh. I’m a lightweight now - very much a gym/health nut for the last five years or so. I’m gone after drink 3 or 4 Anyway, back to the weather, and plenty of squally showers rattling through today. Perhaps the only other day of mild interest after the freezing fog on the 02nd.
  6. Outside the SWX nightclub on Nelson St, then called Syndicate. Over a decade ago though when I actually engaged in such degenerate activities
  7. 2012 will take some beating here. Had Jan-Mar 2020 been in 2019, that would’ve probably taken 1st place.
  8. June pips it in this location, but not by much. Mainly because of greater tendency for longer high pressure spells vs May. July is quite similar to May, then it drops off into August and sharply into September.
  9. It’s about to get squally by the looks of it. Weirdly, on the front rather than the back of the rainband.
  10. What an odd map. Looks incomplete. Lots of zeros where there were heaps of snow.
  11. Amazing what high minima can do for the CET. July’s a weird one. It rarely felt cool but also rarely warm, just humid a lot of the time. Needless to say, maxima were below par.
  12. Yes indeed. Mild is a good way to describe this year. Certainly not in the warm category but even less so featuring cold. A year of high minima too.
  13. Have you not just made the point that 2023 has indeed been a mild year?
  14. Well yes, sadly though that’s rare as hens teeth. All too often we get a low down over Iberia and a warm feed around it back into the UK!
  15. I know lol. It was tongue in cheek. In the grand scheme of things the jet is not southerly for winter yet.
  16. I remember the days when a southerly tracking jet meant colder temperatures than a northerly tracking jet…
  17. 2022 was an average year for rainfall here. The autumn and December counteracted the dry summer, April and January. So in that regard the year balanced itself out.
  18. Thanks heavens for mid May to end of June! What an even duller year it would’ve been without those two months.
