  1. I've been looking through the CFS for things to look forward to in spring lol. I look forward to charts like these:
  2. Sun came out at times this afternoon and with a near constant wind, surfaces dried out pretty quickly thankfully!
  3. In my top 3 Februaries for sure. A very snowy start, the brief Atlantic incursion then brought thunder (very unusual in February) and then the exceptional springlike spell. The month really did have it all!
  4. Looks like I might have to consider going abroad again if a cold March lands. Last thing one needs after a mediocre winter. Last year there was a lot of hype and it ended up being a (admittedly surprising) snowfall followed by weeks of rain.
  5. sundog Which it would be. Absolutely no need for it. Nothing wrong with referring to ‘the August 2022 heatwave’ or ‘the July 2021 heatwave’.
  6. SunSean Not surprised to see the Isle of Wight at the top of the list. Third sunny January in a row here this year, all after quite dull Decembers. Not quite as sunny as 23 and 22, but sunny nonetheless.
  7. In Absence of True Seasons I screenshotted this for London the other day. Ridiculous doesn’t come close…
  8. Aaaaaand back on topic…. Thank goodness January is over. Just one more winter month to go (hopefully). Might actually get treated to some sunshine tomorrow!
  9. Tim Bland Tim Bland It always amazes me how snow makes it across vast swathes of Europe but fizzles out the moment it crosses the UK…
  10. Should've had about 2-3 hours of sunshine by now. Instead, just dull as dishwater again. Since getting back from being away on Friday (which was glorious) it's been soooo boring.
  11. @Alderc 2.0 Quite similar to last Feb in that respect (minus the frosts), although I doubt it'll be anywhere near as sunny. That's what I'm really missing at the moment!
  12. Some interesting reflections of past years here. It should be noted that we are now in the coldest part of the winter and the period most likely to bring the most notable cold - approx. Jan 20th to Feb 10th. A bit like high summer heat. Having said that, if cold ain’t gonna materialise, I’ll take mild and dry with sunny spells. Coming back from a ‘cool spell’ in Rio where it’s currently only 23°C in high summer, so only a ten degree difference to a very mild spell in our winter!
  13. Yep quite common in that sort of setup.
  14. Pressures high, isobars far apart, warm uppers… away from the east coast it would be very decent indeed.
  15. You took a one-liner from me as a lecture and wrote a rant in response. Seems pretty personal to me…
  16. Anyone is free to lecture anyone on here sunshine. Refer to my post above. Try not to take things so personally.
  17. I think maybe time for a time out for you if you get this easily offended this often… ✌ On a side note, to state that a ‘case is closed’ is very unscientific and shows a rather amateur attitude towards science. This is how echo chambers begin.
