  1. Good Call, Northsound 1 mentioned that the roads up near peterhead were only passible with extreme care due to heavy snow!!!
  2. Some huge clouds just off the East coast on my way to work this morning!! West-ward tracking anyone?
  3. Maybe you didnt, i've been reading posts on here allday so i've probably just seen random words and put them together! Anyways...i will wake up to an answer in the morning, i'll sleep on it, probably dream about it since snow has occupied my days for what seems like a very long time now!!!
  4. Was thinking this too...the clouds to the north of the Denmark System have pepped up a bit, the Comma in the north is making good progress towards us. The chances are the northern system will be over the borders by the time the Denmark system pushes NE and hits land. The clouds to the north of the Denmark Comma seem to be developing a bit of motion aswell, the North Sea is very active just now, i dont think any area around scottish waters should be ignored just now...i cant say i'm convinced that the weather is going to calm down anytime soon. Infact, i would be prepared to say that once the northern Comma has passed over the Highlands and the Denmark Comma makes land fall, we will see a return to NE winds, pulling in colder air once again and dragging the system from northern Norwy that seems to be developing! Or atleast, it looks like there is something happening there...there just seems to be too much activity!! Yeah they were crazy, still are! Complete black ice...highly dangerous!
  5. Still convinced the Denmark system will hit the east coast from about Aberdeen to the borders with NE England having some fun too, along with this i think the Comma to the north will come down the western half of the country and both will meet over Scotland. LS made the point that the uppers in the Comma still arent that low so marginal in lower areas, however, if they do meet over Scotland like i think they will, there could be some fun, especially about 15miles inland from the coast!
  6. Very similar to what i have been anticipating on my post back a page!
  7. I know i'm not much of a forecaster, however, i have my own theory on what might happen over the next 24/48 hours, so here goes!! The LP in south England will be squeezed south into northern France and Holland, as this tracks slightly south and east, the LP over Denmark will be pushed north into Eastern Scotland, Angus/Fife/Edinburgh/Borders in particular. As this moves NE, the system over the Faroes will continue to track south then take a SE path, sliding across the country towards Edinburgh but will be blocked as it tracks south. The HP over the Atlantic wont manage to spread over the whole UK, it will squeeze into England and northern France as the LP dissipates. The LP over the NE will be pushed further East as the system over Faroes sinks south over the UK, followed by more cold air, this time mainly from the N/NW. I know this might be very far fetched but i can somehow see this happening!
  8. We have an Olympic Curler in our office so i find out quite a lot of info on the grand match...i'll update when i hear more!!
  9. Am i reading the charts right and seeing that T+24/+36 are showing the Denmark low edging towards Eastern Scotland/England? This must be good!!
  10. Article says... The Grand Match Committee met today (5th January) to discuss the potential for a Grand Match. The sites at Piper Dam and Loch Leven are not currently playable as both have a covering of frozen snow. The Committee is hopefully that the Lake of Menteith can be used and a number of meetings will be held with various local partners and authorities over the next couple of days to try and make it happen. The ice level is currently between five and six inches (a minimum of seven inches are required for a Grand Match). There was a light dusting of snow in the area last night, weather conditions permitting, it is hoped that a Grand Match may be called early next week (week beginning the 11th January). A further update will be issued on Friday 8th

  18. At least he has the courage to say what everyone else already knows!! Everyone has their opinion on GW, my only concern is that if it were true...why on earth would figures need to be manipulated??? It seems like a simple case of scare-mongering to create new industry
  19. Have a look at this...sums everything up...it really does!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/6924898/The-Met-Office-gives-us-the-warmist-weather.html Oh and, yeah its a blizzard here, looks good for convection off of the north sea for aberdeenshire
