(news reports say no major accidents this am, which is good!)

Taken about an hour ago... These taken first, my front view where you canna see Bennachie during a snow shower last night's view also still snowing.. last nights depth recleared.. rear of house, snow clearing in progress (it's manual job up here!!) My Gorgeous (I'm biased) Front View - when you can see Bennachie - after the showers - you can see the clouds passing and the sun lighting up the Tops of Bennachie and the Mither Tap! Sorry it's so many, won't always have better camera at home I promise Local news still telling everyone to stay off roads, all roads in/out Aberdeen are apparently still useless, and accidents galore by the sound of it, hope everyone is Ok!

there's a winter wonderland out there .. now for the not so good part, try get the car oot, I hear Aberdeen is gridlocked so no hurry.. most schools up here have no transport running but oor loon walks so he's most miffed, though I don't imagine there will be many kids there as the school is 90% transport pupils.., hubby still home so I'll try to get some daylight photos - noo far's me shovel ..Blackburn to Westhill road has just been closed

thanks bigyin, sat24 was the one i was looking for am in Kemnay, with a wee bit of height, which I had to walk up tonight already, as car stuck - the slushy mess of the road that was, froze very quickly between 4-6pm then it started snowing again just after 6.. as is now snowing again as I type the untouched level - on the dog house roof is 6cm though it would have a minor thaw/melt over the last 2 days - it's probably deeper on grass but am nae going out there to measure it
-
peterhead/huntly/keith looks to be getting a pasting some of those deceptively little blobs that gave us further 1-2cms are echoing blue/purple on the radar! now can anyone remind me of the best IR/animation site have got a new laptop and haven't yet got all me bookmarks installed.. these pepper pot type showers can sometimes give us a big accumulation if they hit right.. GL Aberdeen

after the snowy start, it turned to rain/snizzle about 10ish, but has now turned back to snow, smaller light flakes so I'm presuming this is the 2nd band.. off to work, have fun all and hope as these bands hit you later it will have cooled enough
-
ermm Guys thought it wasn't supposed to start 'til later - driveway still clear @ 5am, hubby left @5.30am as snow had just started and there's already couple inches so far not complaining though
-

Scotland Regional Discussion - January Part 2
Snooz replied to lorenzo's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
funny you should say that about nature, my wee man cmmented about the geese as we were driving to basketball on saturday morning.. they, the geese, were coming in.. and he thought that was strange! when he asked me should they be doing that (coming home so early) I was lost .. I knew something was weird, but not what! -

OH it's white outside! - looks like we had our first proper snowfall of this winter.. not quite enough for a snowman yet, but an even cm or 2 -

Hope you are all well.. sounds like you've caught a sting indeed.. it was fairly calm here at least in comparison to the pics posted here, it was flat clam until about 10:30am then horrendous (30-50mph gusts) within another half hour, with horizontal sleet/rain/snow. The hills have another white dusting. Can't believe these incredible winds this winter.. lets hope, if the conveyor is to keep going, that it doesn't get much worse! I've been fairly quiet this year, but am reading and looking at your pics.. did I mention wind is my least favourite weather.. OH and Happy New Year btw -

OK, own up... who had too many brussels! bit on the windy side innit?? -
looking not so white this morning, just the grass in patches.. maybe this will help the mood from Grantown-in-Spey

no i can't see it SS, in fact I have tp click the left menu to find myself LOL! tried what you said Lorenzo, to add the icon myself, and it didn't work either, though the steps completed - seems it must be a browser thing as I still see no pin or icon but obviously some can temp now: 0.2c DP -0.7 - just catching the lightest of lightest showers here, but the ground is now covered (rather than sprinkled) white and had fun getting car up hill a couple hours ago
-
I can't see your marker SS?.. for those (like me) who are suffering from a lackage of the white stuff, go visit Google and type "Let it snow" in the search box ... wait.. then use your mouse to go skating ..enjoy though to be fair we had a shower about 3pm which was most definitely snow so we have a white covering - temp's now up to 1.2c with a DP of -0.6 so if we do catch any of those showers flirting across the NE tip.. you never know
-
and just rain this side o' Bennachie, still nothing at all here ps: added myself to the map Lorenzo edit: ooh some teeny flakes in there now!
-
I'll stick my neck out and say everything should be just fine.. Aberdeen and shire seems to be the only place not getting it from these NW'lys even if the showers do pep up a bit the likelyhood of it causing trouble down that route at that time I feel is slim to none Embra might have more likelyhood of catching something from them later.. we need a more N/Ne'ly flow which we had in abundance last year Hawesey glad you're back! GWW seems to be having most of the excitement this year!
