  1. Looking at the Ecm 00z ensemble mean, it's unsettled from start to finish with low pressure in control, never desperately cold though, the south should never be far from maxima of 20 celsius, give or take a degree or two but progressively cooler further n / nw :- )
  2. Yes hopefully those Gefs hints will grow and the second half of this summer will be much better than the first half, I guess after this upcoming cool trough fest, the only way is up!
  3. At last there are hints from the Gefs 00z mean that the Azores high will become more influential towards mid July which is interesting because it's around mid July when the met office say there is a possibility of the weather becoming more settled and warmer from there..and the models are almost in that range now! :- )
  4. I was only joking malcolm, it's good natured banter...from me anyway so hope you do post in winter. :- )
  5. If you use that blue crayon in winter knocker, I will be very happy!
  6. The Ecm 12z ensemble mean paints a changeable / unsettled picture for the next 10 days plus with temperatures average at best and cool during the most unsettled conditions. A year ago almost to the day we were building up to a hot spanish plume event with temps in the 33-37c range but most of us look like being in the mid to upper teens celsius for most of the time apart from tomorrow when it looks largely fine and pleasantly warm in the south / southeast at 22c.
  7. Was the Ecm 12z @ T+240 worth waiting for I hear you ask.?..Drum roll... Nope
  8. This is going to be the low point of the summer so far coming up in the next 10 days + in more ways than one. The Ecm 12z out to T+216 hours looks changeable / unsettled and trough dominated with temperatures nothing to write home about as Michael fish would say...
  9. I'm looking for chinks of light guys, I really am but just went through the GEFS 12z mean all the way to 12th July and there is no end in sight to the frankly poor outlook.. I will keep looking though!
  10. If you are of a nervous disposition, look away now The Gem / Ukmo 12z are also showing a very poor outlook for the height of summer with trough domination during the week ahead and week 2.
  11. The Gfs 6z op run was a vile trough fest and for a while I thought the 12z would be equally foul but later in Fi high pressure builds in and brings summery weather, especially to southern areas. :-)
  12. Yes it's a rather cool outlook although the south should reach 22c 72f tomorrow but generally that figure won't be reached much if at all, at least further north because it looks changeable / unsettled for the next few weeks BUT there remains a possible pattern change around mid July to summer weather with warm and fine conditions spreading to most of the UK and a chance of more humid thundery spells, at least across the s / se.. so there is still hope for the second half of this summer. : - )
  13. Looking through the GEFS 6z perturbations shows a few encouraging signs of pressure rising over / close to the UK just beyond day 10 range so it won't necessarily be as trough dominated as the Gfs 6z op run. :- )
  14. Check out the Gfs 6z, it's the most disgusting run I've seen with so many troughs I lost count.
  15. The Gfs 6z op run is vile, trough after trough attracted to the UK like flies to dog doodo, really depressing for the height of summer with nothing even in the outer limits of Fi, no eye candy, just troughs!
  16. wow what a crap summer this is, I've almost given up on the uk having a good season following the winter that never was and the very cool spring! hat and coat time
  17. Who said it was going to be a BBQ summer?...certainly not the met office!
  18. Later on the Ecm 00z looks warm in the south with mid 20's celsius, some sunshine and more humid with a chance of thundery showers before it turns cooler and fresher as a ridge of high pressure builds in from the w / sw by T+240.
  19. I remember we got Saharan sand last December, car was covered in it, all due to a blowtorch southerly. Hope the coming winter can do better
