  1. Yeah let's hope not hey mate , shows snow for a good chunk of the day at the moment. Keep an eye on it After that the 18z charts are fantastic...if it was June lol!
  2. Yeah getting a bit hammered through that central belt aren't they. Think I'm doomed here, not had anything other than a brief dusting from a shower or wet non sticking snow on saturated ground since 2010! Really quite shocking.
  3. Yeah typical easterly at the moment isn't it, slate grey skies and odd flake blowing around, better luck tomorrow hopefully, not expecting anything today. 4. Just dipped in the SE thread, general mood is it's a let down although think Kent and around Colchester have done quite well. Pretty much in line with the Mets amber warning. Seems just not heavy enough in most places and surfaces sodden....sounds like home!
  5. Don't think bit can be so often you see the over 2m of snow shading on these charts anywhere in the UK!
  6. Just bored so looking at the GEFS 06z postage stamps, they certainly look to be trending on trying to build strong heights to our North/ NE again after a milder interlude later this coming week, could be a very cold February on whole
  7. Looking forward to the dryer air with the lower temps & dew points to 'suck out' the standing water all around, takes me about three hours to clean the chuffin dog everyday lol
  8. Its all the 'boom' 'bosh' 'kapow' posts that go in the mad thread isn't it, builds them up into a frenzy down there
  9. Big signal for a warm up by next Friday for majority of uk, a nice dry, mild high pressure after a winter locked up..sounds pretty nice!
  10. Northerly lakes, easterly Pennines, doomed! Westerly hell yeah drizzle for days , one little gap for for west lancs northwesterly as long as isle of man don't grab it
  11. Must admit I am liking the GFS pub run, big chunky high pressure after this cold spell, mildish dry & sunny will do me after a long winter locked up
  12. Always find the 1000-850hpa thicknesses (roughly cloud level or 1500m 850hpa & ground level 1000hpa) are a great indicator of what will fall from the sky. I can only ever find them on weather online line though. Does anyone know of anywhere else they are shown?: In simple terms from my location at 19m asl, if it's blue it's likely snow, if it's green it's rain. weather model gfs model - united kingdom - thck 850-1000 hpa [base + 114] | weatheronline WWW.WEATHERONLINE.CO.UK Weather for UK, Ireland and the world. 13. Yeah defo! GEFS ensembles looks pretty bullish for a breakdown later next week and turning milder by the weekend but a good snowy breakdown looks very possible. looking at the ECM clusters though it looks half and half. Cluster 2 shows heights rebuilding to our north:
  14. ECM looks fantastic for our region next Thursday, sadly as is often the case it comes at the end of a cold spell rather than the beginning. Windy.com has the ECM precip in hourly increments which is handy
