This shower is amazing
thats the one we had - fantastic

that shower that passed over was the longest spell of heavy snow so far this week. No signs of a let up in convection yet
-
Netweather forecast for here shows moderate snow at 3pm , we expecting something more organised?
-
lovely heavy shower, huge flakes only five mins but covered the car again
-
seem to be so perfectly in a gap between heavy showers, looks like a piece of excellent driving
-
Good 15 min heavy shower and road white over again. BBC website changed to heavy snow showers all today tonight and most of tomorrow - decent chance if a steamer hits
-
Those two areas seem to straddle teesside. Most snow has melted now and although cold a nice day in the sun. If one of these streamers fits could get a few inches but looks twenty miles north and south of us

Very heavy snow here now and blowing around - brilliant

I've been quiet today as I was told on Saturday night and this morning when I said it was disappointing and my luck wasn't in that I was being negative and it will come. Tomorrow will be the day. Well tomorrow may never come.
The original forecast was for heavy stuff Sat afternoon through to Monday with showers right through the week before a south westerly front hit on Thursday and dumped another few inches. Then it was Saturday night. Then Sunday morning. Then it was 'yeah this morning was always going to be quiet, wait till later'. Now it's showers Mon to Wed and dry after that.
If we get a good dumping over the next 48 hours I'll eat my hat, but I can see 2 or 3cm blowing in the wind as all we'll get sadly this week. The jury is out for the rest of this month but it looks to be cold with HP so no snow, but high gas bills.
Anyway, I blame myself. I bought a new sledge on Saturday morning for my little one.
The lad already had a sledge , my 3 year old girl’s one came prime on sat - don’t think she’ll need it bless her

One this to say - sometimes there’s joy in the chase - here we all are - for many of us the model watching , radar watching and forum watching is a big chunk of the fun. Even if we miss out I’d rather this than last winter - virtually never logging in

Check out the will it rain radar there are enormous blobs of showers blasting into northern Scotland right now. Do people think that's what might happen to us from say 9pm? This high wispy cloud is utterly sh$te. Produces nothing but graupel. The showers really are huge in Scotland none of us would miss out in that situation.
Looks like it mate once this dross clears and we start getting a long fetch across the North Sea

To be fair RDT the Beeb are normally rubbish with their forecast, they did call it right this time for last night / this morning but their track record isn't the best.
I think the short term is pretty
good , medium to long has been poor since they ditched the meto and Go from ecm only. When that’s against the other models they chicken up

I’ve been on here for fifteen years and have learned a few lessons. Most of the time when people on the mod thread say day after tomorrow and beeb say wintry showers the beeb turn out to be right. There are others like ‘the Atlantic won’t push through like that ‘ but it usually does. I’m not at all surprised so far and clearly the best is yet to come. I’m just saying that the bbc suggested rain until after midnight and it was , then very light squally showers which they have been. I think I maybe expected too much early on and they were right. Could be very interesting later and overnight though
