  1. Well, what a waste of time, the first chunk has missed and the second chunk out to sea looks like going the same way. Had some exceptionally light flurries a few minutes ago, but that looks like it with the cloud breaking and thinning.

A complete reversal of the last few days. have been completely dry in the south of the region whilst the snow plowed into the north, looks like it may be our turn at last

  2. It is travelling more N-S now rather than NE-SW, and looking at the radar I'm too far inland and it will slip just to the East of me, might just catch the edge. Middlesbrough, Stockton, Billingham, Yarm etc are bang in line to get pasted.

    Thats good news he he

And as far as mid table mediocraty goes, thats good news too, i'm a barnsley fan and we are becoming very hard to beat!

  3. I was thinking of the batches out in the North Sea- I thought the forward one was likely to catch the South Shields/Sunderland area but it could swing to the south of the area, in which case there's another lot to the north of it heading in behind.

What do you think of the chances for the boro area? I could have sworn looking at the radar that we were in for quite a lot this evening but it seems to be petering out as it makes landfall, I have also heard people talking about tomorrow whereas the meto say showers will be dying out tomorrow, does anyone know whats going on! :wallbash:

  4. I have also... TWS mentioned that we we have had a flow of showers from the NE, but as they have hit land they have been taken away with a northerly flow... Makes sense having watched every radar picture output today!

Now the flow has switched to a more easterly direction, we should start to see the showers push more in land and not fizzle out as much. There are some nice echos out to sea which would give a great covering if they happened

Down in Yarm we had a few more cm over night. Been a remarkable cold spell, have had snow on the gorund outside every day since Dec 17th and its a while since we had that length of cold. Not sure what the chances are for tonight, radar makes frustrating viewing with showers always out to sea then faiding out as they make land fall.

  5. Same here its started to get going again.

A friend of mine just rang from Lancashire who was amazed at his current snowfall especially as this was predicted.

Seems like the main band went to NW England instead of NE England.

Strange TEITS that the main band was due to arrive here at 6PM and give maybe 7-8hours snowfall. Looking at the radar it seems that the main band of heavy snow has already gone through. I wonder if precipitation will keep pepping up?
