Evening all, well the outlook for cold and snow is looking delightful, even though I fear it could be frightful, ha ha, anyway I'm on the scrounge and begging, so apologies if this isn't acceptable, and please remove comment if needed. How many on here run their own business, and have a Google page, basically I'm asking for 5 star reviews, and I'll do the same for you, naughty I know, but businesses need a helping hand, and Google go on ratings. So I'm looking to get my ratings on the up, and I'm hoping you lovely lot may be able to help. Thank you
Happy to - what is your business?
Grey and cool here again this morning. Perfect Christmas tree selecting day!

Morning everyone
I see we’re on the will it/won’t it train again in the mod thread so winter must almost be here! Good fun though and interesting to watch.
I have our company Christmas party in London next Thursday so I imagine it’ll be freezing what with it being a fancy party dress code and not one where I can wear my snow boots (bought this time last year which then jinxed us all out of a snowy spell - sorry ) or a woolly hat.
This morning it is almost 7c and patchy cloud.

1.7c outside now. Wonder if it’ll hold until morning so I get my first frost of the season
-
Morning - coldest night of the autumn so far for my weather station at 3.0c. Currently 3.6c.
Despite being on the edge of the town, as there are slight inclines all around us so we are a little frost hollow - one of the closest stations only a little uphill is at 6c.

Up to 52mm just before midnight and still hammering it down

Some pretty squally showers overnight, most of the action west of here from the looks of it. Some of you guys in west Kent and the sussexes will be getting the heaviest of it now.

Just had a little look around some weather stations in the far SW as I saw online that Cornwall was being battered despite no MO warning for them.
Found with a 111mph gust!

The wind has gone crazy down here on the coast in the last few minutes. Would not be surprised if some lost some fence panels overnight.

Anybody like me and just need the bedroom window open every night, even in the depth of winter ? Not because I am warm but because its so nice to feel the cold on my face as I am tucked under the quilt.
Also lovely to hear the rain when nodding off or waking me up in the early hours.
The only time I close it is when I get up on a morning or it stats closed if it is blowing a gale.
Same here, I don’t close it unless it’s so windy it is blowing the curtains in. Never have the heating on in the night either, it’s so warm under a duvet there’s no need.
Thankfully not needed it on at all yet this year, first time we’ll have made it to November with no central heating at all.

Another “a bit of everything” day - amazing sunrise, some brief showery rain and then sunny spells. And of course the unseasonable warmth continues; a high of 19.9c today and still 16.1c as we approach midnight.
For the first time ever I think I’m going to achieve my goal of no central heating on before November!
-
Some very heavy showers overnight accompanied by squally winds made for a disturbed sleep.
Temp has finally dropped a little at least, now to 12.9c at the moment

loads on youtube!
I’ve found one that seems ok. Not looking good even for inland Florida. Gusting to hurricane force even in the central areas for a time

Can anyone recommend a tv station to watch online that is covering the approach please?

A lovely sunny start to the day, currently 13.9c

Few bits of drizzle and one heavy ish burst spurn 4pm as I left work but even that wasn’t widespread as only a mile down the road at home it was dry!
That heavy stuff is sitting just a couple of miles off the coast - if it had stuck around the warning would’ve been correct. But I also see it’s been fairly persistent between Brighton and Eastbourne the last couple of hours so maybe some flooding locally there

Ended up quite a warm and sunny day here again, up to 22.3c after a low of 13.3c

Shower after shower here today, 22mm!!
Sad news about the Queen
In happier news, I believe it is @Tom Quintavalle birthday today? If I’m not mistaken, Happy Birthday!

I agree some can be sketchy. My station shows on there and pretty reliable but there’s one nearby that is sometimes much warmer than it should be in the summer so think it must have some radiated heat back from a wall or too close to concrete floor.
Sadly it’s 1.2c on mine at the moment!
