Very windy here now on the coast in SE Kent. The main storms Paris way seem too far west with their direction of travel, looks like Eastbourne/Brighton might get best chance?
-
Dami bet you get the best storm outside that warning area! You know it’ll not happen inside the warning

Took until 3rd June to hit 20c on my station last year. Have hit that today as the warm air moves up from France and feeling humid.

Just hit 20c for first time this year - incredible how quickly the weather changes in just a day or two. Also, how different from last year when it took until 3rd June!! to hit 20c last year. It then easily got to 30c just two days later, which thankfully isn’t going to happen this week.

Scorching sun. No worries about 35c + heatwaves then!

MO says it should be 7c now but it’s actually 2.2c after a low of -1.1c

Interesting start to the day - was -1.1c a short while ago with plenty of frost and ice after yesterday afternoons rain. Then a band of small showers popped up off the coast and moved in, causing freezing rain for a short period and the temp to shoot up to 1c in a matter of minutes! I could see and hear the ice melting off the gutters and dropping onto the conservatory roof below!
In fact, it’s going up so fast my weather station graph can’t keep up with the change, but since starting writing this post, it’s now over 3c. One of the fastest temp rises I’ve ever seen!I’ll add a photo in a bit of the graph when it’s caught up, in the meantime this was outside just over an hour ago:
And here is the graph:

10.6mm of rain so far (again) and only 4c!
Had a frost last night too, not forecast - low of -0.2c
-
Doesn’t look that bad tomorrow with regard to the wind on the south coast, gusts not forecast to exceed 40mph so not even a proper windy day
-
10c and 25.8mm fallen so far. Not a nice morning

A much nicer day than forecast, mostly sunny up to mid/late afternoon with a high of 12.9c. Raining hard again now, 10.21mm today following 27.10mm yesterday.

A rapid drop in temperature last night as the cold front with its associated squall line passed through at around 2am. Dropped from 10.4c at 1:54am to 7.4c at 2:04am and then 6.5c just another 10 minutes later - not bad!
So jealous of the snow that’s going to fall elsewhere the next day or two. My poor leaky conservatory will turn into a sieve once again once the rain gets going.

It was only meant to get down to 4c here overnight but the frost hollow effect is working well as it is -1.9c
Looking round at local stations it’s very variable, several degrees above or below freezing depending on topography and a fair few -4c across rural Kent and Sussex!

Really howling outside now and strongest gusts not yet reached us. MO has updated to say 2am will be the peak now (for my location) before falling away rapidly.

Watching about the storm with interest keeping my mind off having broken a few bones falling and now in hospital.i wouldn't have minded if I fell in the snow.but just a fall in the house.i don't like storms so it'll probably be less scary here than at home.
Hope you mend quickly JennyJane

If you put in the 5 day forecast for your area it shows you there’s a warning for each day and then click on it tells you it’s a wind warning. The amber for SE is a bit east of you.

-3.0c here, much lower than the MO current forecast of 2c.

Not as cold here as it was Tuesday morning (-5.6c) as it’s currently down to -2.4c.
Scanning round some of the weather stations in Scotland, I’ve seen lots below -10c and a few to -15c. Lowest one is -16c that I could find.

Temp has shot up (to be fair, as predicted) so need to wait for it to drop again in the early hours as the wind goes back to the east.
It was -1.9c at 8pm now it’s 3.7c. DP has levelled out around zero, hopefully that’ll stay below freezing at least.

The models aren't going help us out. I think the only hope is if we all stand on the south coast and breathe in at the same time.
Or stood along the coast with our hoovers?
Currently 2.1c and falling, DP is -2.7c and rising. Still frost in all the shady areas the sun didn’t get to today so the ground temp is still below freezing.
