  1. I loved that snow cup, lots of fun! Sorry to hear you’ve since been ill Tom but pleased you’ve recovered well. You're right...I was joint winner with snowbob!
  2. It’s so nice to be a bit hopeful about snow prospects for once isn’t it
  3. I love Scotland, the weather is beautiful, the scenery amazing - my great grandad grew up in the Highlands so I agree it is lovely. I just don't get the need for digs at each other. And yes, I know that's what I did coming on and commenting in "your" thread, but the digs at other areas are uncalled for. No wonder the world is going to pot if we can't play nice on a forum created for people to share their love of the weather.
  4. Ah well, you enjoy your protracted winter why we in the south east enjoy our warm spring evenings, +25c sun and overnight thunderstorms in the summer
  5. My friend's mum used to live up Aycliffe! Spent the hottest day in August 2003 in a paddling pool in her back garden there! Hopefully we'll both get a bit of a coastal shower streamer going on the next few days
  6. We do sometimes seem to have it a bit different from those around us. I think no one believed our half hour of fluffy flakes on Wednesday evening Alexis, where are you in relation to Dover? Higher ground on the outskirts of Dover can sometimes do quite well too..
  7. Just had a moderate icy/sleet shower. Had a look out the front as it made such a noise against the (ene facing) living room window and it was icy sleet - not snow yet but wasn't rain at least!
  8. I think late afternoon tomorrow onwards. I'm taking that from the 12z dew point charts someone posted earlier
  9. 3c and cloud breaking, could see Orion's Belt when I looked out just now.
  10. Yes! A whole SE thread set of streamers. Just so the mad thread can all be jealous of us for once
  11. Let’s hope we get a Thames streamer and some sort of East Anglia streamer and also a Channel streamer. Then everyone will be happy
  12. Has this updated to the 12z yet? Or could I please have the location of the dew point forecast charts please? Tried looking but couldn’t find them.
  13. Meant to also mention the actual weather.. 3c up at home, car says 4c down here in town. Bit grey and drizzly earlier with the odd teeny flake and then the sun even tried to make an appearance. Just dry and grey now for now though.
  14. Exactly, we usually find surprises out of these setups and I like the excitement of radar watching and waiting to see what happens. I am looking forward to the next few days. Certainly more exciting prospects than we’ve had the last few winters.
  15. Well the birds are certainly stocking up today. Have had wood pigeons, starlings, robins and yellow tits eating (fighting) off the bird table this morning.
  16. I think I’m more hopeful than usual after yesterday evenings flakes. There was nothing forecast and yes it rained before and after but still, snow and more culmatively so far this winter than I’ve had in years. Sure we’re going to all get pasted the next few days
  17. Just saw your post in the mod thread Sunday night into Monday? Hoping for enough to have Monday off work! (Wishful thinking but it keeps me happy)
  18. Knew I’d read something sensible in here! Just popped in the MAD thread and it’s all very contradictory and argumentative. Though some in there you couldn’t please even if they were sitting in a 10 foot drift in a blizzard!
  19. Still a bit sleety up here a while ago too. Hoping we get something decent next week!
  20. It snowed unexpectedly here around 7pm. Big wet flakes but 100% snow for a bit!
  21. I know! Honestly, I’d think I was making it up if I wasn’t me! Where are you? On mobile so can’t see locations on profiles.
