  1. Hello from Kent Often pop in here to have a read and thought you might like to see these that someone shared over there. Lots of snow that time for both our regions...wonder if we might get something similar this time!
  2. What a great dad! I’ve got some of my nan’s photos of 1979 and 81 somewhere. I should see if I can dig them out!
  3. I don’t remember 79 as I was 2 but I do remember the others...then though, I lived at near sea level in Folkestone and it was pretty awesome! Being on the Downs this time I’m hopeful of something reminiscent of those spells
  4. Morning It’s -1.4c with a dew point of -4c here in SE Kent. Lovely sunny start to the day! Must remember to go out in the garden and put some fresh bird seed out for them today as (hopefully) there won’t be much to find on the ground from Monday onwards.
  5. 0.4c, dew point -4c and clear as the moon sets. Back for more model fun and snow anticipation tomorrow!
  6. Again, I don't see any issue with the coastal areas. The dew points along the coast at sea level from Folkestone to Deal are currently around -3c to -5c and the "proper" cold associated with the lower dew points haven't even arrived yet. If anything the sea temps should aid convection..
  7. I really don’t think any area will miss out in east Kent. This feels like the run up to the February 2010 snow streamer we had locally but 10 times better!
  8. Morning -0.4c here this morning, fairly breezy though so no frost again. Very early warning by MO!
  9. A lovely sunny day with a high of 3.9c. Does anyone else come back on NW with a sense of trepidation, just in case the whole thing has disappeared and there's warm southerlies on the cards? Or is that just me ?
  10. I’m so close to telling people about the possibility that maybe perhaps something might just potentially happen next week. Apart from it being freezing cold. I already told them that
  11. Would this little shortwave (low?) crossing east to west give us SE lot any snow if it came off exactly as it shows? (unlikely I know, just interested)
  12. Up to 5.4 here today and mostly sunny. It’s down to 2.9c with a DP of 0c. Feels a lot cooler...is there somewhere to look up current uppers over us?
  13. Morning Chillier than I was expecting this morning at 1c and a light frost at home. Currently partly cloudy and 2c at work.
  14. Oh no! Hope your move went ok and you’re back online fully soon. Literally the worst time to be away!
  15. It’s a tiring hobby, that’s for sure! Going back to the BBC snow watch board days, at least they had a curfew so all us weather nuts couldn’t be up until the small hours like we are now
  16. I thought you’d be getting excited by now@alexisj9? Like me, you couldn’t be more SE if you tried!
  17. I wonder if it’ll happen this time... I think if it gets to Thursday and we’re seeing similar (although I’m sure watered down by then) runs then I’ll genuinely start thinking about stocking up a little. Being in a village on the Downs you tend to get stuck for a day or two if you get drifting, as happened in 2010!
  18. What a miserable day here today, such a contrast to the last three! Foggy up at home when I left this morning and persistent rain/drizzle all day long down in town. Breeze is chilly but certainly warmer than the last few days. Still exciting model watching going on though I see! Literally wishing for this week to be gone and get to Friday evening so I can begin snowflake watch prep (involves gin and snacks)
  19. 8.7c was the warmest over the last three days. Looks like spring though doesn’t it!
