  1. Folkestone seafront, down the zig zag path from the Leas. Hoping you know where I mean as you’re “just along the road” as such..
  2. So windy still! I don’t think it’s going to be that warm on the south coast today if that keeps up, even if the sun does come out. (and it’s drizzling though nothing is showing on the radar!)
  3. Thermometer says 21c but the breeze is chilly in the shade. Be nicer if that dropped off a bit!
  4. A fair amount of lightning to the southwest, eased off now, and a brief spell of torrential rain.
  5. Hadn’t looked at radar since about 7pm and as there was nothing hadn’t bothered since. Now hearing deep rumbles every 30 seconds or so. Looks like it’s going to hit Dungeness way though what’s coming up from France after it?!
  6. Had a 15 minute heavy shower earlier but no thunder. Now very humid with sunny spells. Thought we had another shower incoming but turned to the north...it seems all the showers/storms across central southern England are heading north west while ours are going north...maybe something coming off the north coast of France now though?
  7. Think it’s going to miss, currently over Dungeness and might go as far east as Hythe? Murky sun and 21c here
  8. This site is reasonable for watching wind: https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=1.19,54.16,3000
  9. So an exciting day in the pipeline for some! Normally “lucky” when it comes to storms here (not far inland from Folkestone for mobile users), we’ve not had much luck at all the last few days. Storms have gone past to the north, south and west and even started here as a single rumble only to go on to be epic storms inland! Hoping for something later on after a bit of surface heating gets things going over France, an import might be my best chance. However the luck may carry on the same...the latest radar grab shows it going all around us already...
  10. A misty, humid morning with a high of 16c. The sun started to make an appearance around midday and temperatures responded nicely, a high of 23c in the end. Not too shabby!
  11. So having had no action from the storms the last couple of days and then this morning’s storms starting just up the road from here (but still giving an inch of rain from one shower!) finally just had a rumble of thunder!
  12. I thought I could hear very (very!) distant rumbling here too a few minutes ago. Stopped now and can just hear a plane going over. Trying to stay awake to see what happens but too sleepy. No work this week at least though if it does decide to make landfall later on and wake me up!
  13. Is no one watching the storm over northern France? Looks like it could be heading this way, not sure it’d hold together over that distance though!
  14. Looks like a fairly lively little storm, shame it’s not headed our way. Typical we were over your way last night as there was lots of elevated lightning back home!
  15. Staying at the in laws in River (near Dover) and can hear very distant rumbles. Only a light shower here so far..
  16. 3.3mm of rain overnight, was quite heavy for a time but no thunder. 12c currently and cloudy but less wind at least
  17. Not a great day here. Overcast mostly and very windy so feeling chilly - the high of the day is 14c and that’s happened now because the sun has just struggled through the clouds. Hope it improves for the weekend!
  18. A much warmer feel to the day, despite the wind that has been about for what feels like forever! A high of 19.5c at home (Hawkinge), following another chilly, foggy start to the day and 22c at work (Folkestone).
  19. Hopefully this means we’ll lose the daily morning cloud/mist and that ever present NE’ly breeze!
  20. Agreed, this is where I come first each morning to see what’s happening
  21. Just hit 40mm of rain here since midnight. Hasn’t stopped since yesterday around 2pm and still more to come looking at the radar. Someone down in the town has recorded over 66mm since midnight! Very windy too last night, trees down here and there, a few big ones too unfortunately. Looking nice for my birthday weekend though
