  1. I find the 6z gfs often corrects west only for the 12z moving things further east again.
  2. Very good find and very depressing at the same time. Arctic, Antarctic, tropics, northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere are all above average. @Sentinelyou've got your answer.
  3. That's good news. As you say though, was that sunspot worth counting?
  4. Yes, this wonderful stretch is over. Ironically the solar flux is lower today than it has been for a while.
  5. According to spaceweather a tiny sunspot is trying to emerge. Let's hope it fails because this spotless stretch is fascinating.
  6. Yes, it is strange that it remains above 70 despite the long stretch of blank days. We had shorter spotless periods in this cycle where the flux was below 70.
  7. 22 days blank, 109 for 2018, 55% Solar flux 71 We have now reached the top 25 spotless periods! The only downside is that the solar flux remains stubbornly above 70.
  8. It is not benign for UK standards, it is extreme! I have always preferred the UK summers to the Greek ones as you can get more things done and you don't need to rely on air conditioning. Besides, I have lived here for 20 years now so my tolerance to heat is not what it was used to.
  9. Months of drought, hosepipe ban for northwest England issued today and fires on the hills. It sounds and feels pretty bad to me. By the way, mainland Greece has so far had a wetter summer than here.
  10. The cooler the better! I am not bothered about precipitation either way. I have noticed the last few nights how much darker the sky is, unlike a few weeks ago when the northern side of the horizon was bright through the night. Also, the nocticulent cloud season is coming to an end, always a sign for me that the worst of the summer is behind us.
  11. Some of the forecast models are taking El Nino to moderate category for next winter. I hope it doesn't get upgraded further. At least the sun will be on our side this winter.
  12. We have reached the landmark spotless stretch of 20 days!
  13. It looks like spaceweather has taken the day off.
  14. Yes, come on England! Oups, sorry I got carried away...
  15. The latest euro 4 and aprege are serving crepes filled with praline for northwest England
  16. Good. Make sure you post some pics when the convection starts to kick in
  17. Really nice to see some decent rain this morning. Now clearing but a lot of cloud still around. Let's see what happens later. @Dangerous55019 i think your location is looking good for today.
  18. Yes, it is getting interesting. I just wish the solar flux would get a bit lower. By the way, the spaceweather article mentions that in 2008 we had 52 consecutive days blank but I don't see that listed in the table above from Janssen's site.
  19. That's very interesting and something we can keep for reference as the cycle progresses. Unfortunately we are very far from making the list as this stand now.
  20. Maybe that's the remnants of the spot that produced a c class flare a few days ago.
  21. Fantastic! The sunspot that spaceweather was expecting to appear hasn't materialised.
  22. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer for the 100 day mark. A sunspot is coming into view. www.spaceweather.com
  23. Still a total of 96 days which was also yesterday's total so something is wrong with the spaceweather count.
