  1. Guys, any idea if there is snow on the ground around Kinder area? Some friends are going there for a hike but I will only go if there is snow. lol
  2. Yes, the Aprege is a concern. The 6z was also doing the same. But the 12z gfs has lower pressure than the 6z and the front is a bit more lively as a result.
  3. It doesn't even feel cold outside. I can't wait for the easterly flow to bring the cold uppers and get some frosts from tomorrow night. Spring sucks and summer too, the more they get delayed the better. lol
  4. I don't think it would mention what happens in the stratosphere. Just what the conditions are likely to be on the ground.
  5. Yes and the updated Aprege shows a much weaker front than the earlier run. The ICON still shows the band crossing our region but breaking up after that.
  6. Both the 0z and the 6z are absolutely stunning!
  7. I would agree if she could moderate her language a bit but in reality she goes the extra mile in her forecasts to show how much she dislikes snow and even frost. A professional forecaster should use a more neutral language.
  8. That would be nice but sounds a bit optimistic to me based on the precipitation charts. The front could pep up on future run I guess. The good thing is that the ground will be frozen so even light snow should give a dusting.
  9. I see only a small change but at least it is for the better. The whole pattern is slightly further west which can make a difference.
  10. I returned from La Palma last night and I am surprised at how not cold it is here despite the upper temperatures of around -4 to -5. I didn't even record a frost last night. Looking forward to colder days ahead and hopefully some snow. Hopefully we have a lot of winter ahead of us with the stratospheric warming taking place in about 10 days time.
  11. This is braziliant and fantaboulastic!
  12. Looking at yesterday's MJO update. The forecast takes it to phase 7 where it stalls and possibly weakens. Is that going to be good enough or do we need to enter phase 8? http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/MJO/mjo.shtml
  13. This is the best split so far! Does anybody know if the CFS is also seeing a SSW?
  14. Count me in and preferably a white Easter too! Why limit our aspirations to the end of March. :-)
  15. By Tuesday evening the 6z gfs sets up a northwesterly with -10c uppers. If that happens, then I can die happy! Anyway, the 6z is more amplified than the 0z which is a relief. The UKMO has me a bit concerned this morning but let's hope it will get more amplified this afternoon.
  16. No, the opposite. Great to see consistency developing regarding the SSW and the split.
  17. Still sleet here. Will it manage to turn to snow before the inevitable?
  18. According to the gfs precipitation charts it should be snowing across the region now. A classic example of the gfs overdoing the wintry element.
  19. That's right. The lighter the wind the better. Strong wind would also mix out the air and lead to rain.
