  1. Please use this thread for general weather chat and posting your reports/observations --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Temperature: 7.5 °C Dew Point: 7.3 °C Humidity: 99% Wind Speed: 0.0km/h Wind Gust: 0.0km/h Wind: SE Pressure: 1020.2hPa Precipitation: 0.3mm
  2. Looks as though that's it, in this area, for today. Not had a great deal of action myself as most of the cells seemed to steer their way around me. It's been a very enjoyable day of radar watching, however. Great to see some of you had what sounded like some quite spectacular storms.
  3. This looks quite tasty. Unfortunately, it looks as though it might just miss me
  4. This is turning into a fantastic evening. There seems to be cells spring up everywhere at the moment. There's some major development to my South East now.
  5. I'd unplug it if I were you mate. Better to be safe I always say.
  6. Sorry to hear that Can hear nearby rumbles of thunder again, and the showers have just started
  7. Knowing your luck, it will definitely have been an RAF jet. Not much happening here at the moment. I'm still waiting to see what the very nice looking cell to my South West brings.
  8. I've got my eye on this little beauty that's to my South West
  9. Well that was a bit disappointing. I ended up with one clap of thunder and a thirty second shower  Just heard another rumble in the distance, but I'm not sure whether it is an approaching storm or a passing one. I'll have to check the radar
  10. Get in!!! a nice crack of thunder right above me I'd better sign off for ten minutes
  11. Wind has picked up a fair bit, and the sky is starting to turn very dark. I'm starting to get quite excited
  12. Thanks JL They appear to be around 15 miles away, looking at the radar, so I shouldn't have to wait too long.
  13. Nice line of showers to my South West - things are beginning to look very promising
  14. Phew! it's certainly warm out there Had no shower activity since just before lunchtime. However, there are some nice towers starting to build, so it looks as if things might start to get going again. I've been trying to keep my ears peeled for thunder, but there have been two F15 fighter planes flying around, which have given me quite a few false alarms  Anyway, glad to see that some of us are getting a little electrical action. I'd just like to see it all a little farther East.
  15. Just had to dash to bring the washing in as the first shower of the day has arrived
  16. Morning Dave Indeed, I've just been having a look at the NMM precipitation rate charts and they, also, suggest that it will remain dry for your area. As you say, your region and Lincolnshire are normally renowned for their Thunder Storm activity. GFS is indicating a 55(%) storm risk, for Scarborough, this evening, so you may well be in luck.
  17. I have a good feeling about today JL. We might need to be a little bit patient, though, as the activity doesn't look as if it will develop until later in the day. I'm determined not to become a member of your 'No Storms Club'
  18. Good to see some nice early sunshine too. There's much less cloud today than of late, which should aid convection. Could be a productive day
  19. Some reasonable Cape/LI values for many of us today. Late this afternoon looks good for my region (Yorkshire), so looking forward to another spell of Radar watching.
  20. Looks like North Yorkshire is nicely placed for any storm potential during the late afternoon. My son is going camping on the Moors today, so he could be in for an interesting time.
  21. The 'Today's Weather' and 'General Weather Chat' threads have now been combined, so please use this thread for discussing the weather as well as posting your observations/reports. Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dry and partly cloudy Temperature: 8.3 °C Dew Point: 8.2 °C Humidity: 99% Wind Speed: 6.1km/h Wind Gust: 6.1km/h Wind: West Pressure: 1017.8hPa Precipitation: 0.0mm
  22. Yeah, Also I think it's the uncertainty that makes the radar watching more fun. I think if we all knew exactly when we were going to get a storm, it would take away gloss. Apart from showers/rain, I didn't have any activity either, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself yesterday. Given that we're still in Spring, there will be plenty more opportunities.
  23. Raining and breezy Temperature: 14.1 °C Dew Point: 13.9 °C Humidity: 99% Wind Speed: 9.7km/h Wind Gust: 9.7km/h Wind: East Pressure: 1008.0hPa Precipitation: 4.8mm
