    Did anyone else in SE notice a drop in temps around lunchtime? Went on on the bike at midday and temp was 0.3C, noticed up top of Box Hill at 1pm temp was -3C and when got home 30 mins later temp was -1.2C. Any ideas as to why? Overcast all the time with light snow flurries on and off.

    Been snowing here for an hour now and settling. NW radar v6 showing as rain though, so new version not really doing too well

    Yes mate, it is snowing here and settling, temp drop from 1.2C to 0.6C in last 2 hours. in Dorking and i'm SW of London. Was looking like a 30% chance of this when i went to bed last night but BBC & Meto didn't even mention, and BBC still not showing on their graphics. Must be old recording. Anyway, chances of this turning into more of an event for London & SE later today and tonight now 40% i would say, depends if this SW forms later or not. Models were split on this last night, will know better by lunchtime

    Steve, This streamer, which towns are in it's path inland? I live in Dorking and remember getting hit by the last Thames one in 2009 and wondered if it is a similar set up

    Wasn't expecting this much snow today, had a couple of heavy showers in the past couple of hours and steady snow rest of time here at work, in Southwater, W Sussex. A good 3 inches now

    Best to check with Meto and Fergie at this range rather than the model output. Meto will look at the models and modify them with their own input to hopefully make the picture more accurate. Exeter will be having a headache fine tuning this event, so probs best to wait until update tomorrow late morning and hopefully some input on here from Fergie who has been spot on this winter with all the short range forecasts for us

    C'mon, guys get a grip, you don't want the forecasters spouting Daily Express type rubbish headlines. World news weather is what it says on the tin, quick generalisations on expected weather not the more expansive country forecast we normally see after UK news. As for the models, yes, getting cooler, nothing to get too excited about just yet, light snow graupel showers with a small chance of more organised local snow events that won't and can't be forecast until nearer the time.
