    This Euro high is brilliant and long may it last until end of year. GFS tries to change pattern downstream but keeps backing off whereas ECM keeps it going. Perfect for building my double extension, no frost, no rain except for 2 heavy shower days in last 7 weeks. Brickwork up and roof going on. Plus the gas bills gonna be really low :-)

    Yep discounting the moutains in Scotland i.e. anything above 1000metres Cairngorms 98mph, the highest official recorded gust should be Glen Ogle at 86mph as per Meto and Weather Online. So will my guess of Glen Ogle 91mph be the winner?
