  1. and surface temps cold enough, wet surface won't stop it settling unless temps marginal, then it's called sleet
  2. Sorry but this has always been a nightmare for the forecasters and models as the low hasn't even formed yet on the front. Forecasters doing their best with what they can see but tiny changes can make a big difference in a marginal event like this.Fax now showing low about 100 miles further SSW and a better orientation without the double centre which was helping keep the colder precip further north. Ok, looking better for the south again, but still time for change. Going to be a nowcast on the day me thinks.
  3. Game over, all rain for SE, what happened in Liverpool was expected. Temps and DP in Hampshire rose quickly as the rain arrived, expect the same here
  4. Yes there is lol, can't wait to see Dexter's moans when he gets cold rain tomorrow evening
  5. Not saying complete opposite, just saying its marginal and more likely to be sleet/rain at the mo. Only takes a 1C difference if temps between rain and snow and heights ASL will also make a difference. BBC covering their backsides and i don't blame them, then they can upgrade or downgrade as they see fit tomorrow morning. Sometimes FI can be as little as T6, so lets be patient or move north
  6. Can't blame the BBC for their forecast, at least everyone is prepared. This will be such a marginal event for the SE given current synoptics, it will be hard for them to change their stance until the morning. We might even see the NAE & NMM go more towards the snow solution. Just don't throw toys out the pram if it doesn't snow, because its always been a marginal event for us.
  7. As i said earlier this was always going to be a marginal and nowcast event for the SE, expect the BBC guy has taken his pick of the various model solutions, latest NAE charts leaning more towards a snow/sleet/rain affair, so can only go on what i see. Too marginal to call at the moment, what individuals get is likely to depend very much on heights ASL.
  8. Latest NMM goes for a sleet and mostly rain affair for us down in the south east, temps and dew points being the wrong side of marginal
  9. This may well become a marginal and nowcast event for the SE tmoz evening. Cold block wanting told hold out a bit longer and front may decay and stall. From all rain last night to a snow to rain event this morning, things may well upgrade so i'm sitting on the fence until the 12z NMM and NAE comes out later this pm
  10. You sure?, nothing on Met Office for SE about tonight. Nice suprise for some tonight though. Can't slate the forecasters as couldn't have predicted this synoptically. These features fall in the micro to mesoscale range, but nowhere near significant enough to call a bad forecast.
  11. Paul, here's are the scores from the Mole Valley jury Synoptics 8/10 Snow 9/10 Frost 8/10 Windups 10/10 MFish Nil Point..............see ya soon bud :-).......My video coming to a cinema near you soon
  12. At last, a proper forecaster online, any chance you can get rid of the anorak pretending to be M Fish?
  13. Jealous, you're having a laugh, and pretending to be Michael Fish, what an insult to a legend
  14. It's deluded and trolling, nothing more than drizzle out at sea, even the pretender M Fish, gets excited over an inch of snow. Guess they can't remember the 70's and 80's when we had real snow events lol
  15. w won't be a streamer, but intensifying slightly moving from watford to hemel then tring
  16. all rain i'm afraid, some sleet on the northern end of it so you'll remember the holiday we were on together in 2011 then and you've moved location since i saw you last week !!
  17. soon unfortunately, moving away NW wards. intense looking squall around Exeter for the last couple of hours, shame its rain and not snow. Is this the real Michael Fish?
  18. defo snow over north and NW london areas, can see it on the NW v6 radar image, and lump of sleet coming up from south to meet it, currently in the west surrey and hampshire area. Anything to get excited over Coast?
  19. Looks like we're in a bit more snow for parts of the SE this evening. -5.5C here now but got down to -9.1C whilst it stayed clear
