    May be nothing but just seen what looked to be a fairly substantial meteor to my NW. Very bright white head and contrail. Estimate entry at 35 deg above horizon!

    I have one of these, great for wind when installed properly. I had mine modded to get wind readings every 0.35 seconds instead of the factory default 8 seconds. You wont miss barely any large gusts with the 8 seconds mind. The one I have has been working 2 1/4 years. In this time I've had to replace the transmitter unit and rain gauge. Here's a tip for ya, if you are using the station cabled, you don't need batteries in the transmitter, this will prolong the operational life of the transmitter. Ric

    The oddest thing ever here, I have a 2 metere temp of minus 2.1 c yet a dew point of only minus 0.9 c. Pressure is falling very rapidly now also.

    Im turning my attention to the prospect of some potentially damaging winds after the weekend. Looking at the depth of the first vortex combined with the strong jet feed theres the risk of any one of the sister vortecies early next week winding into a quite serious storm... Watch this space.

    Well, either way im happy. Im missing my severe gales big time. Im quite looking foreward to this week. Just cos its zonal doesnt mean my severe gales will materilize, just like the hunt for cold, models often bugger up much beyond 120 hrs. I feel the coldies pain in that respect.

    The clear sky effect is very dramatic today. Earlier with cloud cover it was minus 0.9c . Now clear blue sky and minus 3.9 c WOOOOOW

    Looking good here lee, down to a healthy minus 1.3c. Can't see there been 12 hrs worth. The 23:30 N24 weather seems to think so though.
