Mozzies get the electric tennis raquet treatment at my domain. Moths, stay untill I find them on their back on a windowsill. Bees, get a stay of exicution and are released. Rats, mice, voles die a horrific death at the hands of my Bengal - Siamease cross cat (Sylvester)
I don't mind butterflies however... I have a BIG problem with cabbage whites. They are a total pain. They are causing severe damage to my fir and spruce sapling crop. Love it or hate it, i've waged chemical warfare against them. They are laying hundreds of eggs in the spruces. When they hatch the caterpillars stick 3 to 4 saplings together then chew out the crowns. I don't have a problem with the others.
What a fantastic evening, two thunderstorms, amazing cloudscapes, and torrential rain. The things dreams are made of.
The first storm, the sun was out the whole time.
i'll mail this huge exploding cu priority dispatch. Mind you in your neck of the woods, as soon as you unpack it, it will sink faster than a fairy cake in a swimming pool.
I'm rather surprised theres not much chatter for fridays offerings?!
Tomaz at 00:00 on news 24 seemed rather excited! Storms starting on the south coast and quickly developing north anywhere east of east wales, some sharp ones into the midlands and yorkshire by afternoon "if you get one boy will you know about it"!
Something I have wondered for a long time now, how far north would sea ice develop if the tip of south america was joined to the Antartic continent by lets say a width of 200 miles? When you look on cryosphere today the ice is right up to the tip of the nearest point to South america from antartica. Surely a solid land link up would seriously alter the southern ocean flow round the continent possibly driving cooler waters up the coast of south america?
yes today been the closest overhead of the year with 2 gunshot strikes. Plenty this year at distance. Compared to some we have had loads. Close and distant totals are 14 now for us.
Crewe, you still the director general of the no storms club?
Hopefully you should leave the nsc today, i'll be shocked if storms miss you today. If they miss, well, what can I say, theres no hope really lol.
pit... I'm starting to feel really sorry for you. I think all the members here that get storms should donate £50 toward a moving house fund to a more stormy reigon for you. Here in barnsley, especially Staincross, Mappelwell and Darton are very good hotspots. We average 18 storms per year here!
