look at that ppn over biscay, exsact shape of Greenland, is that a purple iceland over Spanish border with france lol. Even the orientation is the same as greenland on the map
My concern is the sheer weight of cold heavy air around and to the north of Greenland. Hpa 850's approaching -40c have the power to flattern ridges in themselves. Think of it mechanically if you will coupled with an at times extremely intense pool of low 500 thickness. The risk of the high been squeezed toward been a euro high are immense imo. You will need much lower height (500) over europe to allow the forcing north and eastward of this mid Atlantic hp.
Sorry a tad off topic but, I have expierienced many a 90 mph gust and I have to say, I will not be satisfied til it kills me. This is probily a deeply selfish thing to say cus wind on this magnitude nearly always costs lives. Sorry but, this is the beast within me, call it an extreme sport that affects many if you will.

Well, the 18's deliver yet another huge lump of dissapointment if your after something even resembling cold out to the mid term. I still await a decent gale here in south yorks!
Southern softies lolol. You can just picture the headline news on the london regionals in the morning.... "last night the wind upset a dustbin inShaftsbury".... Jeez, i'd hate to be a dustbin in Shaftsbury tonight!!!
Ere in da nordth (tarn) barnsley south yorks pressure peaked at 988.8 mb at 21:30. @23:06 we have begun the descent now 986.4 and speeding up downward.
if this is the case this could be critical. Refer to my lunchtime post. Rember, the oct 2000 storm past direct overhead and I still got hurricane force gusts.
